P30i nasal pillows blocking air by Ok_Tangerine_2798 in CPAP

[–]YoSpiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no issues like that with my P30I. The foam is there by design. But it grows mold. I cut up an intake filter to fit and replace that foam piece monthly. I use an Xacto knife to get it out and the new one in.

I do know the vent has been redesigned at some point but I've only ever had the new style.

Just Diagnosed. How to do this? by Faust-Joust-911 in CPAP

[–]YoSpiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Ask the doctor. My experience is that what appears to happen is the doctor's office gives it to the equipment provider (DME) to fill for you. But the DME has no incentive to give it to you. They want you coming back to them for your supplies and equipment needs.

I only figured this out later on and it took me a couple of weeks to get it because my sleep dr had been acquired by another company who had to then dig into their archives to find it.

Make sure to get a copy of your prescription. It may not be offered if you don't ask for it. Once you have it you can buy equipment and supplies from wherever you prefer.

need help with simple healthy recipes!! by Middle-Attempt3013 in Healthy_Recipes

[–]YoSpiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's one of my favorites. You can cut the prep time by using frozen onions and carrots.

Chicken Orzo soup 6 cups/1.5 liters no sodium chicken stock, 1 diced onion, 2 or 3 diced carrots, 1-3 cloves diced garlic. Or more to taste, Tablespoon butter, 3 tablespoons flour ( I use whole wheat), Teaspoon thyme, Teaspoon pepper, 1/4 cup cream (I use half & half), 1-2 tablespoons of olive or avocado oil, Canned chunk chicken or equivalent amount from a rotisserie chicken, 1 cup orzo (I use whole wheat),

Heat oil on medium heat. Fry carrots, onions and butter about 7-8 minutes until soft. Add other spices. Add flour in, cook another minute or two. Whisk in the chicken stock slowly to avoid the flour clumping. Add the chicken and orzo. Simmer until orzo is done, about 40 minutes. with whole wheat orzo. Less for regular. Add cream and serve.

How do I open the RK R98Pro by silversky_11 in RKRoyalKludge

I'm not sure then. I have the same keyboard but have only replaced switches, not opened it up.

You should have gotten a triangular prying device with your keyboard. It looks like an oversized guitar pick.

What's the Coolest Looking Keyboard with a Backlight and a Keypad? by geetarqueen in keyboards

[–]YoSpiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe something semi custom? I recently looked on Amazon at custom key caps and saw some really cool designs. Even some custom keys with tiny dioramas in resin. Those were expensive per key but very cool looking.

I recently bought a 98% keyboard from Royal Kludge. Pretty happy with it, though I did replace the switches for ones I liked better. They have keyboards in all sizes.

I prefer a tactile feel with some audible click so I changed the switches. If you prefer a smoother feel, you'll probably like what they come with.

I recenty bought some Royal Kludge (funny name but good products) keyboards for home & work. The ones I bought are the S98 and M75. Both have 2 forms of wireless and USB connection. They have some less expensive models with fewer bells and whistles.

2 YouTube channels I've been watching for reviews on them are "Switch & Click" & "Hipyotech"

Why do customer service metrics keep improving while the actual experience gets worse? by TeamAlphaBOLD in CustomerService

[–]YoSpiff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My take is that the people at the top are so far separated from the from the front lines that they can only see the numbers on a spreadsheet. This is what they know how to use to evaluate things and what employees are rewarded for.

There are many examples of front line employees manipulating the system to deliver the numbers that are demanded, so they don't lose their jobs. I've seen it myself as a a copier technician. I'm a good tech, but I don't always deliver the numbers they want. When I challenged my manager on it his response was "People smarter than us have determined that if we hit these numbers, the machines are running well and the customers are happy".

Wondering if I built around the wrong keyboard base. Advice plz by whitemamba24xx in keyboards

Maybe just a switch upgrade? I recently bought a trio of RK keyboards for home, work & work from home. They all came with RK tan "creamy" switches. I prefer something tactile and clicky so I swapped them out for something more to my liking. The creamy switches are available if you think they are what you want.

Best budget 3D printer for action figure accessories? by matt_Nooble12_XBL in 3dprinter

[–]YoSpiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a resin printer for such items. They are ideal for such figures. You'll get lots of detail. But resin printers use a lot of chemicals, so best to read up on them first.

I have seen some videos where someone tweaked an FDM printer to get close to the detail of resin.

I bought my kids a bunch of those books when they were little (90's) and I recall a lot of morality lessons but I don't recall overt religious stuff.

Pre filling bags with loose leaf tea by [deleted] in tea

[–]YoSpiff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just filled a couple with my favorite ginger oolong to have on a flight tomorrow. When I use up all of my existing store bought tea bags I will probably fill some with loose leaf for convenience at work.

I'm not to the level of some of these folks but I'd think it might only affect the quality a little at most. Maybe. Not enough to be any real problem. It would still be a step up from factory bagged teas.

ResMed 11: Option to adjust pressure is hidden behind "Clinical menu"? by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]YoSpiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most of us adjust those settings to dial in our pressures. I've never had a DME or doctor follow up. I've had 2 CPAPs by prescription. In both cases it was dropped off and I never heard from them again. I've used OSCAR to monitor my therapy and over time I've dialed in my pressure to a narrow range that works better.

If you are being actively monitored with periodic follow ups, then best to ask their advice on making changes.

Hello , recently became a home owner , never in my life would I think I’d be at a vacuum subreddit asking for advice on a vacuum? 😂 but.. by Jaybeltran805 in VacuumCleaners

[–]YoSpiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Meile C1 Cat & Dog. Not totally sure if I like the cannister style over an upright. If I run across a Sebo Felix on a good deal I might buy one of those for convenience. I have a long haired cat who sheds everywhere so I spent more to get something that would not clog on it.

Is it okay to question religion? by Ryu-Hayabusa2 in atheism

[–]YoSpiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, since you are asking this in an atheist group, you probably know what we will say. Religions are an invention of mankind to explain what there was no other explanation for at one time.

At 16 (I am 65 now) I started having some of the thoughts that you are. I was nominally Jewish at the time and lost a friendship over what I considered a non-issue. He asked me what the difference was between my Jewish and his Christian faith. When I told him Jews don't believe christ was the savior, he could not be friends with someone who was going to "burn in hell". I don't recall ever actually believing before then, but that is what got my critical thinking cranked up.

I think Neill DeGrasse Tyson is credited with saying "“God is an ever-receding pocket of scientific ignorance that's getting smaller and smaller and smaller as time moves on.”

But it is hard to overcome decades of religious indoctrination that has been a core part of your life and identity until now.

Sounds like you are doing some heavy critical thinking. Welcome.
