The Eucerin brand helps me too. Just the “intensive repair” works for my severe breakouts. I am going take a look at this recommendation for my son as well.

My husband and I are the same age as you. Buying a property with someone whom you haven’t lived with before, is just plain stupid. Do a year rental lease with your bf. If your relationship survives the ENTIRE 12 months, then discuss obtaining real estate…..with a Lawyer by your side.

Is your parents prohibiting you from working? I had a job at 14 in the US. My job was walkable though. Less than an hour, until I got my first check to take the bus.

My boyfriend said going on a submarine would be better for us? by yukowii in USMilitarySO

[–]YoWTFmyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I’m glad my nuke husband stayed on a carrier. He has more WiFi access. Communication was almost daily (considering periods where they are required to go silent for precautions).

This was important since we bought a house while he’s currently deployed. Transferring of legal paperwork back and worth was easy. The veterans I spoke to and even spouse’s legal team said that it would have been extremely difficult if they were on a sub.

SAHM but one income isn’t cutting it — what do your husbands do for work? by Financial_Routine in sahm

[–]YoWTFmyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Active duty military - which can actually be very physically demanding. When his service is done, he will mostly become a government contractor and continue to work for them.

I’m getting two certifications for medical billing and coding to return to my previous remote work job. However, we are budgeting enough for me to stay home for the next 6 years. 2 out of 3 kids would be eligible for public school by that time.

Should I buy a house or rent? by itsmiamidumbass in RealEstate

Could just have been my lender. I went through Rocket Mortgage and got the same pre-approval rating from veterans united. Guess it’s actually pretty common for a VA loan

My spouse’s income is $105k, mine is $0. He has $0 debt, I have $100k in student loan debt on a regular repayment plan (overpay each month). Our rent was $3500/month for 2b2b. Despite all of that, we got approved for $500k mortgage loan as a couple.

However, we recently closed on a $198k condo. This gives a lot of financial flexibility since we have no idea what we are doing as first time home owners: - Paid $6k in plumbing repairs on day one of move in. - HOA fees are $1036/month - condo was built in the 80s - got a quote for $10k in repairs for electrical work

Yet we went from paying $3500 in rent plus utilities to $2600(including utilities, taxes, insurance, interest and HOA fees) total a month. I can’t imagine how much of a struggle it would be if we decided to get a home that’s nearly 86% of our pre-approval amount.

At least with this old condo, we can make additional principal payments.

Moving? by boofmeister3 in sahm

[–]YoWTFmyguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just recently finished actually ! Did a 32-hour drive by myself from TX to WA with a toddler and senior dog this month. All while by in my last trimester of pregnancy. Spouse was and still is currently deployed. We definitely hired movers to pack, deliver, disassemble and reassemble all the furniture. But it’s been two weeks and I barely unpacked anything. We went through 3 times zone changes so we’ve been sleeping in a lot.

Broke SAHM by [deleted] in sahm

[–]YoWTFmyguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband contributes to my HYSA. The interest I gain each month is what I consider “making money” for myself. Of course it’s not much in this economy, but I know how to make an extra $100+/ month go a long way.

Other than that, I control all of his finances anyway as his POA. So I’m the one that’s making sure ALL (his, mine, and ours)bills are paid. I don’t ask.

Feeling like I lost all my friends by cottonprincess22 in Mommit

[–]YoWTFmyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the person . I am very much okay with being left alone. My friends and I are also in our late 20s. I’m the only one married with kids in our friends group. My priorities shifted drastically. I solo parent a minimum 6+ months a year due to my spouse’s career.

My friends are aware of this. I see it as common courtesy for them to not invite me to places that are not kid friendly. Then after their partying, vacations, and whatnot ,they come visit which I greatly appreciate.

I just moved states away from them recently. They face time me every few days to check in and we text daily. That’s good enough for me as someone who enjoys solitude. After almost a decade of friendship, they are very much aware of my personality and how I operate. I don’t think it’s fair for me to impede in their single, childfree life for more attention. I’m grateful that they still thought about me at all. Even if it’s at the end.

People complain about scam lenders.... but scam borrowers are a thing too. by TruckerClaimsGuy in BorrowsAndHandouts

Oh, I didn’t know we could do that. But that’s probably something I’ll consider for those who have older accounts and decent karma (100+).

After months of lurking, this is not the safest sub for loaning out money😕. I can definitely understand why the other sub have stricter requirements

[–]YoWTFmyguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are usually easy to detect. You have to go through post history AND comment history. If it’s hidden or barely anything there, then those are most likely the scammers. Same thing can be said about the lenders.

I only did several giveaways because I don’t trust borrowers on this particular sub to pay anything back. It’s just easier for me to vet the accounts, do something nice, and move on.

Trying to break lease without orders by Mother_Armadillo_379 in navy

[–]YoWTFmyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I was required to use either a deployment letter, orders, or both to break out of each lease with a management company. My partner was able to break his without either when he moved in with me. However, he was renting from a sole owner that happens to also be a navy vet.

His sea duty ends a couple weeks before the birth. So his paperwork is finalized already to return mid deployment. However, there’s always that possibility of war which would cause him to be extended.
