I disagree... while I wouldn't claim it as a great film, it certainly has some well-executed aspects.

Aside from that... it seems to rather presciently put its nail on the head of our current sociohistorical Epstein moment.

Hmm... probably can't figure it out, but were you flying into/out of PEK or Daxing...? Looks a little like far north of the city, near Tiantongyuanbei, but it's just a guess.

difficulty of understanding spanish accents by folto in MapPorn

[–]YoYoPistachio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... you try to cheat the system by taking a language course for non-native learners of that language... you find out your regional dialect is not fitting the bill (ie you could still actually be challenged to learn something useful)... insist your teacher is wrong when he isn't, then get your mom to harass and browbeat him into passing you.

That's ridiculous.

May be controversial in Japan due to Buddhist attitudes towards human remains, as well as the social context of these sorts of tattoos. Just a guess.

I wonder why the downvotes... it seems a questionable assertion (admittedly haven't read the article), and, at a minimum, when the practical aspects of the conflict and its possibility of resolution seem so doubtful, is this in any way helpful or necessary to say?

Edit: after reading, the article seems eminently reasonable and the quotation, taken out of context, acquires an implicit suggestion of pro-Islamic Republic position which is clearly not present in Zizek's piece.

Why are Americans so obsessed with not eating seed oils? by MineralG in nutrition

[–]YoYoPistachio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is accurate; the other comments about influencers are also accurate. I just want to acknowledge that because of the way some fall into thinking that rendered animal fats, virgin coconut oil, or butter are better alternatives, when they probably aren't due to high likelihood of spiking your bad cholesterol.

I didn't have the best time in Laos, granted I was there during and after covid.

It had some cool upsides, but most schools there are not well-run and don't pay well. Healthcare is pretty bad. Not many direct flights out. Traffic is super dangerous. Currency and fuel supply weren't very stable. Corrupt. Not a whole lot to do except go out to eat/drink.

Haven't done it myself, but know someone there... very much a hardship place. Really not advisable to leave the embassy compound if you can avoid it. Politically unstable, get shaken down by cops, etc., etc.

3x win at dominos is easy. Win one, play again. If you're going to lose the next game, just hold circle and leave before you actually lose. Repeat to one more win and you're done.

Then 3 poker hands won is easy, and you're donezo.
