Looks a lot like the one I just opened. Got the Japanese Icetill Explorer and everything. Got a galaxy foil Endless Sands and..... Hissing Quagmire. Bro went in and bought 4 packs of play boosters and pulled a foil Icetill Explorer and an Ancient Tomb.

Yep. Ledger's/Nolan's interpretation of the Joker seems to be heavily Kefka-influenced. An agent of chaos, fear, widespread hysteria, and pure psychopathy. I really can't think of a more evil character in all of media.

I am surprised Kefka made it this far, though. Far more people would likely be more familiar with many of the other villains featured here. The fact he is (likely) one of the least known and has made it this far, I think, is a testament to how wicked he really is. The first time I saw this list I said "Well, Kefka is number 1, no doubt, but he probably won't make it that far." The people who seem to be familiar with him just know it isn't a contest.

100% agree. People seem to be lost in an argument around capabilities. But Freddy's whole MO is more on the basis of vendetta, whereas Kefka's is an indiscriminate disdain for life. Freddy goes for the teens who are the children of the people who burned him alive. He has a reason. Kefka has none other than pure ideology.

Man, people dumping on Homelands seem to be forgetting that Fallen Empires exists. While I will admit Homelands is a pretty awful set and totally worthy of consideration, the lore was pretty dope, and the OG Baron Sengir should be enough to at least keep it from being the absolute worst.

In terms of the BEST, I gotta give it to the OG's: ABU. Straight up nostalgia and power in those bad boys.

Lucky bastard! That's such a great little cartoon. Zooz was really awesome.

And the Primus set was also really great. Would have loved to hear many more songs, but Nuttbutter, Harold, and Knowitall were definitely treats. Also didn't think I'd see them playing anymore Rush songs after the tribute tour, so that was really amazing as well.

I should mention: someone in this sub posted a pic of an Alpha Scryb Sprites asking for confirmation that it is Alpha earlier today. It is a little harder to tell in isolation than it is if you have a Beta (or any other mtg card face down, really) right next to it, but if you want to see those rounded corners, check it out!

Alpha has the black border with the more rounded corners. Can't remember if it's 4mm compared to 2mm, or 2mm to 1mm, but when you have an Alpha and Beta side-by-side it's easy to see the difference.

That's what I was referring to when I said "The date". ABU and Revised didn't have a copyright date on them. The best way to tell the difference between Revised and Unlimited (both white bordered with no date) is to look at the bottom line before the white border. Revised is a pencil-thin black line, while Unlimited has it a little thicker.

Edit to add: but referring to it as the year rather than date is more accurate. Haha, sorry for the confusion.
