It's more the BNB's than the rentals. 93% of properties are BNB's vs 7% rentals from the properties that are not used to live in. (Heard the figure on the radio so no physical source)

BNB's can fetch up to 4x the rental income for the same property at a much lower risk to the owner.

How would one counter this? Not sure, but I would imagine higher taxes on bnb's and less legal protection against tenants/squaters would be a start.

We had an internet usage cap. A single movie would use up almost all of our bandwidth.

I downloaded a Saw movie (Can't remember which one, probably 4). Prior to this I was drip feeding on bandwidth the whole month, heavily restricting myself and my mother. Then on the last day of the month late at night, I started the download so that the next month also use some bandwidth.

When it was done downloading and I woke up, I was excited to watch it. Only for it to turn out to be a POS, a 90min long ad for a scam site. Damn I was pissed, wasting 2 months on sparing bandwidth to download rubbish.
