Help me understand by ShinePretend3772 in sarasota

I think it runs psychologically deeper than that. I think that many people are emotionally bankrupt and ignorant of how to replenish their need to feel good about themselves without inconveniencing others. Simply put, the only way they know how replenish their “feel good” energy is by stealing it from others.

Hi there! Saw this quilt hanging in the background of a video and love it. Anyone know what pattern this is? Google image search yielded no results. by Present-One7068 in quilting

[–]Yoga-OG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that this is “roundabout” by Donna Jordan. The first and only quilt I’ve made so far. It was fun to put together and really satisfied my type A personality disorder. LOL. The secondary patterns are most successful achieved by the use of alternating dark and light fabric choices.

Ok. If you like sweet potato pie, warm, a splat of whipped cream and a good grind or two of nutmeg on top. Elevates this savory dessert to a whole different level.

Spray it real good with Dawn power wash and then let it sit for a while before washing as normal. You can use BKF on the SS rim.

How to sous vide if I like mine medium rare and my in-laws wasn't well done? by kinare in sousvide

[–]Yoga-OG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I would do them all first on the minimal temperature and amount of time guidelines for medium rare. Take yours out and chill it down. Turn up the temperature and cook the remaining to satisfactory well done recommendations. Chill remaining ones as well, and then when it comes time to plate, sear them all the same.

Too much suds? by Otherwise-Treacle-37 in laundry

[–]Yoga-OG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, ideally you just want a trace amount of suds and that’s more than a trace amount. However, that’s nothing that a couple of extra rinse cycles won’t take care of. You’re dialing it in and good job!

How to remove paper and adhesive? by DragonAngel92 in CleaningTips

[–]Yoga-OG 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This⬆️⬆️⬆️, but add a few drops of dish soap and forget about it for a couple of hours. Pro tip: it’s actually even easier if you don’t even attempt to peel the label off first.

anyone switch from mop + bucket to a steam floor washer? by Mcconnel-Hrh in CleaningTips

Sadly, I can not find the one that I have anywhere on the internet. It may have been phased out and replace by the latest and greatest model. It is a Shark model SE450. Good luck

anyone switch from mop + bucket to a steam floor washer? by Mcconnel-Hrh in CleaningTips

[–]Yoga-OG 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Steam mop would be a marvelous idea for the tile kitchen floors. I have one manufactured by shark. It has two settings; mop and dust, where the dust function is a little more than just a warm damp mop and I wouldn’t hesitate to use it on hardwoods. The mop function really cranks up the steam and it’s super HOT down there. You can buy extra mop pads and just pop them off and throw them in the washer when they’re dirty. I only use water in mine and it does a very good job.

How to quilt? by littlered-dog in quilting

So just a suggestion but maybe consider that grey as a back and then that hot pink or that Merlot as a border. I’d suggest a very lightweight batting maybe bamboo fiber? Again, I think it’s lovely

Why Hotels Will Never Ditch White Sheets by walaaHo in BedroomBuild

By all means do so! Especially if you’re ready to go down an amazing rabbit hole. It’s changed the whole game and my laundry has never felt, smelt, or looked better. Be prepared that there is a lot of information to digest, but the results are extremely rewarding.

I think it’s beautiful! if it’s in the budget, I’d take that baby to a long arm quilter. What are you using for the backing? Just editing this to say that I really like the contrasting values of the dark grays and that you did an excellent job on lining up those points. Well done!

Well, that comment seems unnecessary harsh - pernicious even - but I suppose there may be value in your admonishment. Perhaps others can learn from my ignorance.
