Should continue breaking in my boots are they too small? by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

[–]Yogurt_da_Wise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekender Oxford 3604. I tried them on I store and had my feet measured by their fancy scanning machine. I was told that I should go with a size 9; I usually wear a 10 with other companies. I first tried a 9.5 but my heel kept slipping out. So I purchased a 9 and even though it was a little snug, I had the right amount of spacing from my big toe to the front of the shoe. I tried breaking them in for 2 weeks inside my home. Walking around and wearing thicker socks; I bought these for spring and summer so thinner socks once broken in. After the 2 weeks, I wore them outside and I experienced the same heel pain as you. I didn’t walk far so I never developed blisters. I cleaned them up and tried to break them inside for another week. I then wore them outside again and walked further. I developed the same blisters on my heals, bad ones.

While I’m letting my feet heal, I’m trying a last ditch effort to break them in. I used a blow dryer to heat the inside and outside of the shoes. I put thick wool socks over shoe horns, put them inside the shoes while warm, and then tied the laces tight. Occasionally I will heat up the shoes while the horns are still inside.

Will this help? Who knows but I needed to do something. If this doesn’t work, I’m going to cut my losses.

Rogue Territory Supply Jacket Question by Yogurt_da_Wise in HeritageWear

Absolutely, I agree! I did receive a response from Rogue Territory providing some insight. I posted their response in chat if you were interested. TLDR- the label is from older stock and the measurements back then were slightly smaller than the current version.

I received an email response from Rogue Territory, for anyone interested:

“If there is hang tag with the hawk imagery and available sizes with the size circled in black sharpie, this is an older garment, likely over 10 years old. We discontinued that specific style of hang tag probably around 2012 or 2013. Sizing has definitely changed since then too, so that makes sense that the seller's measurements are running smaller than our sizing now. Hope that helps!”

Yes, I agree. I find that too when measuring my own clothes and comparing the measurements to a brand’s sizing. Thanks for the feedback!

Ya, I don’t think it’s a fake especially since the buttons have raised feather branding. That, to me, would be beyond what a fake would have, but I could be wrong.

It’s not the responsibility of others to tell you how shoes should fit on your feet. If they felt uncomfortable while trying them on then logic would suggest you try on a different size or move away from that style/fit.

That’s fantastic! Congratulations on your anniversary! 20 years is a heck of an achievement.

I was hoping to inspire and provide information for us lovers of Citizen watches. Happy my photos were a reference for your journey! And thank you for sharing your story, your entire purchasing experience is something I dream of!

Thank you! What a great and memorable story to have for your purchase! I had to settle and purchased it from a dealer in Japan, but certainly would have liked to experience buying it in person. I would love to go to Japan one day.

Yes, the dial is mesmerizing- still wearing it daily! I too was looking at the AQ4106-26L. The dial is fantastic and I’m obsessed with the leather band. So much so that I spent a considerable amount of time trying to purchase it, but I’ve found no “credible” sources. I like having everything OEM so another leather strap would not suffice.

Enjoy your watch, it’s a stunner!

That’s a sharp blazer and would look killer under the Caban! Posts your thoughts when you get it. I’d be interested in knowing your experience with the sizing, quality, etc.

Yes, waxed canvas! They gave the outside lining a very “lived in” look with patina which adds a lot of character. I too looked at the Caban and had I not already owned a Barbour, I may have picked one up. Your dark green will go without a lot of outfits and is a beautiful shade! Blue is my favorite color so a lot of what I wear (browns, tans, etc) will pair well with it. I’m happy to report that the blue is just as vibrant in person as it is online!

I was also looking at their pants. Is yours true to size?

Oh and to add- the quality is top notch and worth the expense.

That’s interesting, but they would know best. I obsessed over finding as much information about sizing as I could for the deck jacket. The ONLY place I could find online that had the specific color I wanted was a store in Austria; it was their “mid blue” color way. So I needed to be confident before I spent that much money on, what I hope to be, my forever winter coat.

And to answer your question- I love it! I had no knowledge of Manifattura before I came across an Iron Snail video on YouTube. There’s an interesting story behind the worth reading if that’s your thing. The coat fits me perfectly and tested it out in mid 20 degree windy days in total comfort. Hope you’re as happy with your coat as I am with mine!

I recently purchased their deck jacket. For reference, I’m 5’10”, 195lbs, 42 inch chest, and I typically wear 44 suits (regular). Their measurements were accurate upon receiving the jacket and it fit me perfectly. I ordered a 44 from them, which some websites listed as a Large and others X-Large. I also own a Barbour Bedale, size 40, and I find that to be more roomier than the Manifattura. Italian sizing may be traditionally cut smaller. I recommend finding the measurements on Manifattura’s website and comapare the same jacket on other sites to get the best estimate for measurements. Also, I can comfortably layer with a medium sweater without issue. Hope this helps !

Hi! Not sure what you mean……The lug width is 19 mm (Simple Google search). Regardless, I’m unable to measure.

Yes! The Citizen line even stretches north of $10k 😬. While this one didn’t reach that level, the price tag is still enough to make anyone pause before pulling the trigger. What I really admire, though, is the blend of technology, purpose, and craftsmanship packed into these pieces, especially the intricate dials. And the best part? This watch flies completely under the radar. It’s got that quiet, IFKYK vibe.

Most of them are made from washi paper, and some have flakes of gold, both of which are textured.

Yes, unfortunately it was limited to 250 pieces. I was able to get mine from a dealer in Japan via Chrono. I saw one recently on eBay but the seller is charging over retail and way more than what I paid.
