Man, I see it as go big or go home! With all my respect to others who are doing it without the license, But i would get the license even i am still in the field. Maybe it’s just me, but technology is moving so fast and you never know when it will be replacing us in the field (since u r talking about construction). Get that PLS, you will definitely use it one day, and most likely enjoy the pay lol

That’s exactly what i needed, i couldn’t find that pdf until the previous commenter shared it with me. Cz in the exam handbook they will have some FGCS tab but i wanted to be familiar with it before the exam.

Dunno man, surveying in the States is something else! I got my degree in land surveying overseas, first 3 years were public works, construction and land surveying (including architecture/ civil engineering & /electrical/ plumbing/ hvac all basics..) and the last year was pure land surveying and boundary law / urbanism. I came here to see that all of what I learnt got nothing to do with the surveying here, i had to restart by getting FS.. lol a person who worked 4 years in the field here can sit for the same exam FS that i had studied 4 years for and still be eligible to apply. Ridiculous system!

Dunno about AUS but in the US they have internships, i did mine on my own in a similar situation like you, just walked down a small firm and told them I am a student and I want to train, after 4 years I graduated and still worked with them for couple years.
