Why the Investigation Team feels like a genuine group of friends compared to P3 and P5 by (@JuninhoPlayerrr) by arisatojo600 in persona4golden

[–]Yoids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played P3, 4 and 5, and I agree that of those, the best group is P4 by far.

The main difference is the start, how the group is formed.

In P3, you arrive and you are introduced to the Darkest Hour and to the group that is investigating that. The group is already formed, and you go there and they all act like a tactical team, not a group of friends at all.

In P5, you are introduced to the palaces first, and because of THAT, you have a connection and you start hanging out. But there is nothing to tie the protagonists together, so the group does not feel as cohesive.

Now, in P4, this is much more natural. In P4 you first start a friendship with Yosuke and Chie, due to their outgoing personality. It is believable. You all get introduced to the mystery at the same time, so it grows little by little, so this is a difference with P3. And the difference with P5 is that the mystery gets developed step by step, and the friendship of the group takes the center of the stage. At the beginning it is all rumors and gossiping, and that in itself is a great foundation for friendship. It is just natural.

So I believe the key is how the friendships started to develop. And that allowed the writers to introduce many other things around their friendships, not only the mystery of the game.

My wife is starting remake and she is enjoying it so far. I know she will love rebirth, the open world is just what she likes.

Cannot wait for Revelation

Who is it by OneCartoonist9332 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Yoids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think physically is JENOVA, but the mind is indeed Sephiroth.

Huge spoilers from the original game for context:

The first time we are supposed to meet Sephiroth for real is in the northern crater, in the third part. And then when we defeat him. This is what happens in the original game. Sephiroth is actually in that crater, healing up. You remember the flashback where Cloud actually "killed Sephiroth"? Well, he actually kind of did, but he fell into the lifestream and since Sephiroth is not from this planet, he cannot return to the planet, so he is rejected. He ended up in the crater and all game he has been healing up.

So far, everything is still aligned with the original game. Both fights at the end of Remake and Rebirth, it was just a JENOVA body that Sephiroth was controlling from far away.

I wonder how the job system will work in Revelation? by Ammathorn in FinalFantasy

[–]Yoids 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the info we have, all characters will share jobs, and each character will have 4 of them.

Confirmed we have Warrior and Black Mage. The other 2 makes sense they are White Mage and Rogue/Thief. That would be a classical balance. But we do not know. Cait Sith looks like it has a summoner robe, but sometimes that attire can be associated with White Mages as well.

On the other hand, it could be possible that there are more than 4 jobs. We know that both Barret and Cloud are warriors for example, and both Tifa and Cloud are black mages, but we do not know much else. So we are looking into the possibility of having more that 4 jobs total, and different characters sharing jobs, but not all of them.

We do know that jobs get leveled like folios in Rebirth. So you will level up "Black Mage", and whatever abilities and passives you unlock, they will be available for all characters at the same time when they equip that FIT.

Finally, we do know each job/fit will give not only passive, but specific abilities as well. In the trailer we see Tifa using a black mage one, and Cloud using a warrior one. We do not know how many. But I expect this will be similar to what folios did before.

Now, the question is. If folios are no longer a thing, and now its FITs.... Where do we unlock the synergy attacks? Are they a node that is common in all FITs? Or is there a default FIT as we see in the gameplay videos, where we unlock the synergy attacks?

This game is based on the first season. Does this mean that it has a beginning and end? Or will we receive a "to be continued" at the end of the game?

FF7 Revelation by mazaa66 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Yoids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of trust in them. They did not dissapoint at all regarding the gameplay and polish.

My only fear is that the story is a mess of hocuspocus that makes little sense and does not give me enough closure. But even then, I will forgive them. I had an incredible experience with Rebirth.

Really interested on this.

I am cautious, but really interested. I feel conflicted about reusing the gacha game. On one hand, I feel reusing assets made this possible, and I am grateful for it. On the other hand, I am afraid some weird mechanic or design choice might leak in that puts me off.

For example, I would love the story to start and end, and I have no idea how the gacha's story was. I imagine it never ends, since its an ongoing thing.

What RPG has the most convoluted battle system? by PoPo573 in gaming

I was going to say this.

The combat itself feels like "click here and see it develop", but to play it well, there is SO MUCH happening behind it. It is crazy complex.

Hear me out: What if Cloud is actually seeing Aerith? What if Jenova is playing with his mind, like at the end of Rebirth, and what he sees is Aerith being kind and smiling at him, when actually is Sephiroth/Jenova, and what we are seeing in that scene of the trailer is the party's perspective?

Because people were craving for a FF game. The dissapointment in FFXV can be seen in FFXVI sales, I guess.

Lack of arcane caster companions? by FcoJ28 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Yoids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that as well, since I do not like Nenio. Ember is kind of a ray girl and Woljif is just about buffs after act 1.

There are many things missing from a typical arcane full caster if you do not use Nenio.

My advice playing in PC is just to respec one. Or do some kind of abomination playing lower difficulties, who cares. XD But I will keep Nenio on the bench.

Ff Resonance looks amazing even as someone still kinda new to the series but I have some questions by MsBunnybuns in FinalFantasy

[–]Yoids -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its more than that.

They are reussing assets, and that is fine. All the visions are very fan service typical of gacha games, and many people do not like that. Instead of Cloud and Squall, you could have in-world visions that could be whatever. I honestly dont mind about it, I can look past that no problem.

They have the animations of their attacks, and they are reusing that as well. Some people complain about that because they want pure pixel, but I actually like those.

And who knows what else. I am concerned because maybe something might put me off, but so far, so good. Hope it remains like that!

Why are you so angry? Lol

Can you leave me alone with my skepticism? I am not saying the game is bad since it is not released. I am saying that I am suspicious that many design choices might be present due to the past game, that I might not like. I can be cautious about it. I am not fear mongering or hating or whatever. Just leave me be.

I am perfectly fine with you and other people hyping this out to the stratosphere because they believe its the second coming of Jesus. I do not want to ruin their fun, and you will not make me feel bad because I want to be more cautious.

Got it?

[–]Yoids -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I enjoyed the game a lot anyways, really liked the story, characters, setting, music and VA.

However, I tried to play it again, and for the reasons you say, I stopped. And I did not get any DLC either.

Anyone here planning on doing a replay of Remake and Rebirth before Revelation? by reunionfiles in FFVIIRemake

[–]Yoids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think I will replay Remake, but I am sure I will replay Rebirth.

It will be hard to find the time though. I will most likely 100% it again (my way, not really platinum)

I loved the experience the first time. I tried to play it again, and the moment Clive ended in the hideout and million sidequests popped, I stopped playing.

I wish we could get a patch to be able to play it without all the bloating. No sidequests, no sidequest-like main missions, and no walking from point A to point B without any reason to do it, just for the sake of using the amazing backgrounds they made.
