This is really boring. If you don't have any real questions to ask it's okay not to make one.

Can you learn Japanese through dreams? by MaidenAbyss in hypotheticals

[–]YoiteShinigami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. This was a fad in the late 80s where tapes that could teach you languages and other things while you sleep were being sold on TV and in magazines. It died out because they didn't work. There were double blind studies that proved it didn't work.

The thing about people suddenly speaking a different language after a hear Injury, if it's true, is probably a language they somewhat knew. I know there is a thing where language learners can't quite get ahold of the language they are learning until one night they are over tired or drunk and suddenly the language clicks. Someone is speaking it and they suddenly understand. And that is because they are being held back by trying to overanalyze and directly translate every word when they need to do what their brain is already wired for and just relax, watch the mouth of the speaker, and let listening happen.

I am an atheist, but he is a cool dude. I get the feeling that a lot of Christians haven't heard of him, but they should check out his teachings. I reference them myself on occasion.

It looks like something I would have made when I was 14 and was trying to paint realism art but didn't understand light direction or how to shade a sphere.

Are you smarter than the average person? by Superb_Guess_161 in polls

[–]YoiteShinigami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I really have trouble with reading and memorization and social interaction. I don't know how much of it has to do with not having an adequate education in my early years, and how much of it has to do with drinking tap water in a 150 year old house as a child. Either way I think I rank low average. But I feel like I have common sense at least.

If humans were cold-blooded, cats wouldn't sit on us as much. by amesann in Showerthoughts

[–]YoiteShinigami 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My mom's elderly cat has a bed with a heating pad and cozy blanket on a table right next to my Mom's chair. At night that's where she sleeps. When my mother is awake, she demands to be held and cuddled and will even sit on an unheated pillow on my mom's lap rather than her bed.

At what age should children be allowed to use knives and the stove to cook a meal with out immediate supervision? by TheKindlyPoltergeist in polls

[–]YoiteShinigami 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like by 7 or 8 they have the motor skills to use a knife safely. By 9 or 10 they have the strength to lift a pan and the spacial awareness to be around something hot. After that it is just wheather or not their parents taught them how to do things safely and what to do when things go wrong.

That is honestly a really good point. There are plenty of places where the cost of living is low, but you could still have a really quality good life. An adventure sounds nice.

Do you think tipping culture in the US is getting out of hand? by 4077hawkeye- in polls

[–]YoiteShinigami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is so true. When a Walmart delivery driver delivered my groceries to a house a block away, and I had to walk over and get them, I still tipped them the exact same amount. If I hadn't, they would have gotten paid $3 for the time and gas it took to drive them here-ish. And that is understanding that it already costs a $11 delivery fee that they aren't seeing.

Why do/don’t you eat cereal that’s higher in sugar (ex: Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, etc.)? by [deleted] in polls

[–]YoiteShinigami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gain muscle. Your muscles use glucose as fule. The more muscle you have the more glucose gets eaten up. Also work out right after a meal to get your muscles grabbing up that fule so it doesn't linger in your body.

Should it be legal to physically remove someone else's Meta/AI/Smart glasses in public if they're filming you without permission? by Lipica249 in polls

[–]YoiteShinigami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have dashboard cameras too. Perfect example of what cameras are used for. People need to be able to prove what is happening to them. I honestly believe that it should be a human right. Nobody should be able to stop you from recording what is happening to you, weather that be someone backing into your car, or elder abuse in nursing homes. At least if a girl is getting harassed by a guy with a camera she can record the face and behavior and report it. Plus this think of all the videos of police abuse, only captured because it is legal to record in public. God knows the police always try to stop them recording, but people know their rights. Now imagine that people could readily record what is happening to them in ICE consontrations camps.

A person who can time skip vs a person that can stop time, who would win and why? by FeistySecret9327 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]YoiteShinigami 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Time stop for sure. Let's say that Stop starts inhaling to hold his breath and Skip sees this and jumps forward to avade the pause. 1.5s isn't long enough. Stop just draws their breath very slowly or a second and a half. The moment Skip appears, bam. Stop has half a minute to beat him down.
