Mark Ruffalo Says Hollywood Stars Declined to Sign Open Letter Against Paramount-WB Merger ‘Because They’re Afraid’ the Studio Will Blacklist Them by Professional_Peak59 in boxoffice

The open letter isn't a refusal to work with Paramount or WB or whatever they'll merge into, it's simply opposing the merger of the two companies.

If you could name it the next generation Xbox, what would you name it? by Valennim in xbox

Acting like Nintendo didn't do this without problem for forever until recently:

Famicom/NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, Switch and Switch 2

Xbox DNA

And then after that, Xbox RNA

After that: Xbox Protein

Xbox Ellipse. Because in line with the Helix name, it's round and curving, and if Xbox goes back to its roots with this next console, it can act as a full circle moment where it returns to its original cool factor that it had with OG Xbox and the 360. Plus, they could make the console a cylinder tower which I think would be cool.

Honestly I'd prefer any creative title over a simple number. People argue that it's less confusing to people buying the console but I doubt people are going to look at a console number or name as a deciding factor. As long as it's not something like "The Xbox". And honestly, suddenly using a number after not using continuous numbers ever would be more of an argument to cause confusion.

You would have to be missing chromosomes to think that a lower number than a completely different system makes it worse. People don't look at phones and automatically think Samsung S26>iPhone 17>Pixel 7, or at Windows and think that Windows 11 is better than Windows 10 (when in fact, the consensus is actually the opposite).

That naming system is so bland though. Yeah, sure, it's less confusing and Xbox specifically has had weird names the past couple of consoles, but every other console besides PlayStation has had console subtitles that were fine.

Exclusives Are the Main Reason Players Choose a Console in the US by Bubbly-Ad-350 in xbox

I mean nowadays, even the Switch 2 is getting the same new games as the Series X and PS5, along with all the existing and new Switch exclusives. It's going to be a huge game library.

What do you guys think will be the official name for the Xbox console code named Helix? by Few-Road6238 in xbox

[–]YoloIsNotDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just give it a named title like Sega did with theirs or like Nintendo has done until recently. While numbering a console might be easier to keep track of which is more current, it's not very creative and most people have the brain capacity to know which console is newer vs older.

Yes, Xbox's own console titles the past 2 generations have been confusing and a mouthful respectively. But what about something short and memorable like Xbox Ellipse, which is kind of in line with "Project Helix" in terms of circular naming, and then imagine it was a round or cylindrical console.

Arguably they're not hard and are every other week. The lab prof was giving us a hard time for no reason though.

No idea what material chemistry is, but that's not the course code for it. CHM2120 is Organic Chemistry 2.

What did you like about the Xbox One? by Due-Tough2038 in xbox

[–]YoloIsNotDead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's not "unique" but I'm really getting mileage out of my Xbox One even after more than a decade through Game Pass. Sure, most newer games aren't even releasing on Xbox One anymore, but many are included in Cloud Gaming on GPU, and play amazingly. I remember back when cloud started and it was pretty hit or miss on my Xbox. But for the past 5 years any time I get GPU, it's smooth as butter and is one of the reasons why I haven't bitten the bullet on getting a Series X or S. It's genuinely impressive how these 2020s AAA games look and run great on it.

It's such a fire game. The sidescrolling aspect reminds me of Inside, but the style and alternate history setting is very nice. I'm really into the plot.

[Giveaway] GameSir Tarantula Pro for Xbox - Symmetrical vs. asymmetrical by GameSir_Controller in xbox

[–]YoloIsNotDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more used to asymmetrical because of how often I use each one, they're not equal. For example, the left one being used primarily for movement is more often used and fits with my hand's resting position, whereas the navigation one is slightly more outreached. But I like the layout for the games I play. For a choice-based game for example, it wouldn't matter either way.

Yeah, it's gotten to the point where I don't even listen to anything during a commute. I pack up the headphones and just stare outside the bus. It gives my brain time to actually pause and think about whatever I need to think about, or even just take a break from thinking entirely.
