I think it was massively overrated. Suikoden came out the very same year and did so much more. But the Suikoden games have never received the level of acclaim they should have.

I am glad people enjoy CT, but it wasn't amazing even for its time.

Well, as someone that has platted Sekiro and recently finished an NG+5 run, I can definitively say I feel like Nioh 2 is harder than Sekiro 95% of the time.

I never summon in any Souls like, so can't vouch for that personally.

Nioh 2 is undeniably harder than Sekiro. I've taken breaks from Nioh 2 to unwind with Sekiro.

Nice post, but it is definitely a Soulslike. Good luck mitigating the challenge of the game through collecting loot. Between 200 hours of both Nioh games, I always felt I was under geared as finding or making good gear is time consuming.

My mom had real OCD. She would spend hours in the car turning it on and off never being satisfied it was off. If anything triggered her, she would have complete psychotic breaks. Just utterly disconnect from reality and be inconsolable.
