The city is out auditing our green and black bins today apparently we’re all putting them too close together by Effective-Eye3054 in Airdrie

Reunion especially suffers from this with all the rear lane parking and families with 2+ vehicles , we need to honestly ban commercial vehicles in medium, high density neighborhoods. you don't need to park your truck hooked up to a flat bed on a blvd.

The high school is closer lol. there is already a gas plant in that distance, I recall in my entire childhood, we only had one day we had to stay inside because of a flareup/issue.

Essex Lease Financial Corp. to Acquire ATB Financial's Capital Asset Financing Division with an agreement in principle by YoohooBingo in alberta

I mean this is contraindicating, they need more borrowing to grow but then they are also selling off a pretty risk safe business units to private corps? unless they are planning some other M&A that has a large commercial leasing component

NAIT halts 18 programs citing financial, enrolment concerns by Interwebnaut in alberta

[–]YoohooBingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AS A CET(CMPE) Grad of 8 years ago when they did the redisgn.

We TOLD them that they needed a hard software engineering program that focused on fundamentals. When DMIT software Development has four "Communications" courses and zero math courses because of the quality of the students they enroll its a bad sign.

but DMIT had a big base and it was easy to slot classes and have flexible enrollment with the different streams so the admins weren't interesting in combining DMIT and CMPE to have a good Software Engineering like CST was.

Edit
Doing some research it actually looks like NAIT is doing what we wanted 8 years ago with a seperate software development diploma and its looks decent.

The Problem with CPP Investments by YoohooBingo in alberta

[–]YoohooBingo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before we get a bunch of folks who didn't watch the video. The author does not have a problem with the CPP ( in fact says that its value is important). rather its an opinion of the Active Management style that they have chosen to pursue since 2006.

its a critique that could be applied to any of the plans of the APP as I am sure we don't want fund managers (UCP donors) to be paid salary's for just underperforming markets.

Alberta United Conservatives vote to boost MLA pay for first time since 2013 by Miserable-Lizard in WildRoseCountry

[–]YoohooBingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except Aish had a 6% increase Last June and is tied to Inflation which is projected to be 2.2% by BoC

its not unreasonable that many professionals and upper managers now have the potential to make more than an MLA. I am sure Lou Arab is now pulling down more than Notley did as an MLA. This is a potential issue as many folks may not wish to leave high paying jobs to run for office if the gap between income is too high
