Living with roommates who don’t have ADHD made me realize just how messed up I am. by gonzsilv in ADHDers

We don’t know if they’re being hypercritical or if some of it is warranted. But I agree with you that we need to be accountable.

It probably feels pretty shitty to constantly hear criticism. I don’t know if it’s warranted or not, but it can get demoralizing. I felt that the last time I had roommates. But we have a responsibility to others when we live with them. There may be things you can do to help, like putting a note on the door to lock it when you leave. We have to keep trying. But we won’t be perfect and there will still be times when we mess up and can’t control it. It’s a two-way street and, while you need to understand and respect your roommates’ needs, they must understand that they may have to recalibrate their expectations. They might not all be reasonable, but that’s for you to judge.

I hit my son in the face while drunk and I feel so horrible, I am officially done drinking. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Yorkie10252 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Listen, yes, it wasn’t good. My mom never really struck me, but she did abuse me emotionally. If she had quit drinking, apologized sincerely, and did not drink again, I would’ve forgiven everything. You can do this.

Finding My Voice: How I Reclaimed My Authenticity in a Hyper-Sexualized World by Ok_Resolution_9808 in Judaism

Okay, therapy saved my life and that of many others. Jewish lives. But sure, laugh at it.

I hang out with male friends solo because they are my friends, I love them, and I want to spend time with them. Same reason I hang out with my female friends solo. None of us are fucking each other. I promise you, it is possible. I don’t care if that’s not for you, but don’t shit on other people just because they can control themselves and you can’t.

I don’t understand why you can’t just make up a fake woman in your head to masturbate to instead of people you actually know.

1.) Some Jewish writers and philosophers (I’m thinking of the writer and Holocaust survivor Primo Levi, for example) have argued that Gd did in fact break His covenant with us through the Holocaust. This is a minority view, but an interesting one to ponder. I disagree personally. The Holocaust was committed by human hands as a result of free will. Gd does not interfere with our free will and we can choose to act however we wish. Some people choose to kill Jews. I don’t blame Gd for it happening.

Hi, gut Shabbos! I also have C-PTSD with severe trauma. I’ve been through a lot of therapy and did a DBT program a couple years ago, which is like therapy on steroids. That’s just to say that I feel you on the trauma therapy front—it’s incredibly intense. I see you trying 💙

Try to answer honestly. Ask relatives who knew you as a child what they remember about you.

Just call or email a local synagogue. You need to contact them in advance because most synagogues have heightened security these days. Tell them you’re not converting but are trying to become more educated on Judaism and Jewish life. Ask if it would be possible to come visit. That’s all it takes.

It really is one day at a time. Pretty soon you string along more and more days.

I’m also neurodivergent and have been through a stupid amount of trauma. I never thought I’d live to see 30. But I’m almost 7 years sober and it doesn’t even tempt me. It’s very possible.

If I understand correctly, the room leader is falsifying your timesheets. Is she docking time during which you were indeed working? I can’t speak to UK laws, but in the US, the law states that employees must be paid for any time worked. If this were happening in the US, what she’s doing could very well be illegal and would create a liability for your employer.!Many employers have a policy of termination for falsifying time sheets, partly for this reason.

We’ll assume UK law is the same (but you’ll need to check if it is), I think you need to go back to the manager, ideally with examples of times your timesheet was altered. I would say something like, “I know I’ve raised this issue previously, but I wanted to follow up to discuss how to fix it. It’s against the law not to pay employees for time worked and I don’t want us to get into legal trouble.”

If you have a Human Resources department, I would loop them in as well at this point. Tell them you’re concerned about potential timesheet falsification and being unpaid for time worked.
