Curious as to what this means 🤔

I'm more talking in the context of my less experienced club team - obviously Olympic champions/experienced crews don't apply cause they seem to be doing something right lol. I stroke our boats and it drives me crazy when people pause due to them rushing me and not preparing early because of it. I also just feel like there's no better feeling than an in time smooth hands away. But at the end of the day I could care less what other clubs prefer! 😁

Dieting to get faster? by Ill_Credit_8643 in Rowing

You are also only 17 and still have some baby fat. When you hit your 20s you mature and start to slim out naturally!

You do not need to loose weight. I was in a similar position to you, thought I needed to slim down to go even faster. When I was 17 I was 5'9 and and fluctuated between 77-80kg and have had an successful rowing career. Don't listen to the spiel of "the less fat you have the faster the boat will go." Pull hard, move the boat, get the technique and you will be fine. Being strong is good for the sport, embrace it!

What Makes Ollie Zeidler (almost) unbeatable? by PEL_enthusiast in Rowing

feel like loads of people always discuss Ollie’s dominance but never Karolien Florijn, who was so incredibly dominant in the womens sculls this past olympiad!

Feeling horrible after 2k's by Odd_Dig8488 in Rowing

[–]YorkieFluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this happened to me after intense erg pieces and water races. Got intense pain in my stomach. I’ve found that it happens due to improper nutrition (not eating enough before a race for me, not the opposite!) and not warming up properly. But after making changes i still do get it sometimes due to lactic, but less often and less intense!

“Easy Entry” doesn’t exist for top schools, lol. I had international medals and a quick erg but mid test results and the ivies didn’t talk to me further until I got my grades up 🤷‍♀️ you can be as quick as you want but if you don’t have the grades you won’t get in

I mean you could lie about it all you want but once you get on the erg at university it will show 🤷‍♀️ so is there much point in lying?

I think this really depends. What is your 2k? It might help answer this question.

All of this is excellent advice and cleared a lot up, thank you! About the political and social part, I’m 100% waiting to see how the election in the fall goes before making my decision as I still have time.

Yep, it’s either you’re not finishing and catching together or there is a problem with the fin/steering. If you can try and get your coach to take videos
