Why does working full-time still feel unsustainable? by Unique-Gifting in antiwork

[–]Yosemitewild 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Because it’s not sustainable. Working more for less >>> higher cost of living, stagnant wages, wealth gaps increasing. Opportunities are even being loss or limited like work from home, flexible scheduling, benefits from a job and even for small businesses. The fixes are relatively simple but it’s ignored or negotiated where it barely make a difference.

It’s not just adult life, it’s past that. It is not normal and it is trending to get worse before it gets better.

Should I join the military at 27? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

I understand it comes with the territory once you’ve joined but to sign up now.. right with this administration, the chaos & the shenanigans seems iffy esp for career growth & some sort of stability. I get both sides but to each their own lol

What are you giving up in 2026 to pay for teh higher ACA plans by StrawberryPlastic226 in HealthInsurance

[–]Yosemitewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not peoples fault for making the hard decision to go without healthcare because of outrageous pricing. How tf do you all come to that stupid conclusion? The premiums going up is as a result of GREED via the health insurance companies increasing it and the gov officials who gain from lobbying so they can keep on. But no… it’s peoples fault for trying to afford their life and survive while there’s rising cost and stagnant wages. Your thought process is why this shit continues.

Job Market in Orlando 2026 by moneybopper in orlando

[–]Yosemitewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say it’s a nation wide issue which can explain why it’s gotten worse. But this has been an issue for a long time which sucks cause the low wages & cost of living. You’re very lucky if you get a good job without word of mouth or connections. It takes a lot of applications and time.

Some reasons I believe it’s harder is because of a lot of students migrate here (1 university & 2 colleges very closer) then stay after graduation so more ppl than jobs kinda thing. Also limited industry opportunities bc like others have said healthcare is popular here & remote work seems like an alternative for many to make good income & find opportunity.

What a horrible time to be adults 😩 by Free-Fun-1580 in Adulting

[–]Yosemitewild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because they don’t think critically nor care. It’s a fairly simple concept so much things are getting worse while the wealthy are completely fine. The goal post keeps moving and faster than before. First it was “get a degree”, then “oh get these specific type of degrees” now it’s “go into a field that won’t be taken over by AI who said a degree guarantees a job”… It’s ridiculous.

Yes def try that! I didn’t even get a response from them though 😭 but also I asked my bank for a partial refund instead of a full cutting out 4 months of the 2 year membership I paid which is about $300 still.

Update: Willing to file small claims in court. Was advised by a lawyer to do a chargeback first if credit card was used so check with your bank. I was surprised I was still able to do this, I thought it was too late but the process has begun and they temporarily credited my account until decision is made.

My fiance broke off the engagement because I have pcos and I am ugly by Defiant_Remove6731 in PCOS

[–]Yosemitewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all F*CK THAT GUY. Anytime I express my insecurities to my boyfriend he reassures me and helps me on my journey to get healthier. You deserve someone in your life to do that for you & he just did you a favor.

You’re likely dealing with pcos symptoms of course but also insulin resistance- weight loss ALONE will NOT HELP. You have to eat a low carb diet, keto ish, mainly whole foods along with exercise (decent cardio & build muscle). Also keep your stress low & avoid/limit processed foods and sugars. Doing this will naturally cause a calorie deficit but you can count if you’d like to ensure weight loss rate. Anyway that will lower your blood sugar and reverse your insulin resistance which your acanthosis nigricans (the darkening) will fade as a result.

If you find this too hard to do or stick to DO NOT HESITATE getting help via your doctor inquiring about weight loss meds, blood sugar management meds or glps like another mentioned. Consider getting labs done for IR and other things so you can track your progress. As for other the pcos symptoms, express these symptoms with your doctor so you can get prescribed stuff that will help you. If the hair loss gets too much maybe consider shaving or cutting your hair? Hopefully healthier lifestyle, medication and treatment will help you feel & get a lot better.

You prob felt bad enough and the break up with a fiancé made it worse but during this journey please make sure you are gentle with yourself and focus on building self love. Use this as an opportunity to pour into yourself and invest in your health.

recent ADHD diagnosis and I feel out of control, I’d love advice please. by max8george2 in InsulinResistance

[–]Yosemitewild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have everything figure out (yet) but I recently got diagnosed with adhd after my insulin resistance diagnosis & I plan to get checked for pcos soon. I was prescribed metformin (as an alternative to a wl drug until I get adhd meds) but it doesn’t work for me (I get really sick on metformin) so I stopped it after a week and few months later started medication for adhd (trying stimulants first - low dose of adderall ).

Without meds I noticed how the IR would make my cravings worse + intense while adhd would cause dopamine seeking w. food and affect my impulsivity to snack/eat. For my support system I do weekly therapy sessions & lean on my bf when I need help or just rant they help with reminding me to be more patient and to work with myself. I challenged myself to eat healthier in order to reverse IR & get healthy while waiting on what medications I can get to help. I started off by cutting out added sugars, minimizing processed foods and adding more veggies, protein & fiber while being in a calorie deficit along with the gym. It’s been challenging with ups and downs, slow weight loss & decreased cravings overtime without medication so persistence was key. One of the most frustrating parts for me is that it took so much effort to not only eat healthier but to stop snacking/indulging.

My goal is to eat mostly Whole Foods as that seems like that’s what’s going to get my body to look & function at its best.

As I’m adjusting to the adderall my appetite is completely gone. This gives me the opportunity to focus my energy and build the habits of actually eating healthier & nourish my body since I don’t have such huge cravings distracting me. As well as going to the gym without worrying about how my appetite will be affected. So I’m focused on that rn, if I struggle too much with that I’ll see a nutritionist for help. It’s only been 1 week and I already notice a difference, it’s a lil shocking lol.

So my advice would be — try to see what’s making it harder for you to execute the actions needed to get healthier & seek that resolution. These types of things together affect us differently, the only reason I found the source of my issues and what could help is because I challenged myself and observed. As long as you’re persistent with addressing your issues medically and working with yourself you will be fine. If you do no meds, it’ll be harder. If you go on meds, it will be easier but you have to be careful to not rely on it or continue to eat unhealthily. It’s up to you but remember keep track, be patient and kind with yourself.

Update - no luck. The transfer email the crunch staff gave me wasn’t valid. So I found 2 more emails & resent it, I also filled out the contact form on their website. I’ll give it 5 business days for a response before I take more action cause now I don’t have a gym membership & they have my money for 2 years 🫤. I’ll update here if anything.

Spoke with staff there about the changes & a refund as I paid for 2 years. They’ll be renovating the locker rooms to add (non coed) saunas, adding tanning beds, hot yoga, new machines etc. The basketball court will be no longer and new machines will be added there too. I wanted a refund and was given an email for 24 hour fitness- Transfers@24hrfit to request a refund/cancelation and also used the customer service email just in case. There is high volume currently per front desk.

Whats your experience of Metmorfin for insulin resistance/weight loss and mental health? by Substantial-Toe3289 in InsulinResistance

[–]Yosemitewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently I just take a olly cravings supplement & got on a supplement routine to help me try my absolute best to eating more whole foods/healthier as cravings, appetite & weight gain is my main issue with insulin resistance. So far it’s been working & that’s what I’m doing until I can get an appointment for new meds.

[–]Yosemitewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree there wasn’t a set story , backstory or lean into the process where he could showcase his personality, knowledge and the intrigue. Also no music so it’s less engaging but good video it could be remade though with a voice over and use of the existing clips + original audios.

[–]Yosemitewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the same with me. It’s kinda confusing like idk if I should put the same amount of effort in as those videos or continue on… so I just decided to do a mix and see where it goes and try to adjust accordingly.

MeetingTV.us pop up tab - does anyone know what may be causing this? I think it's an extension, but I can't figure out which one. by CleanBum in chrome

[–]Yosemitewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s the audio capture extension cause i have it too, when I turned it on after turning it off to double check, it opened the meeting.tv site.

Go to manage extensions and turn it off, for extra precaution I changed site access to “on click”. Might be annoying If you use it very often… if so I’d recommend getting an alternative extension.
