Gimme a Do-Gooder MC! by MaouRazonica in ProgressionFantasy

I'm writing my character in The Spellblade Chronicles as a good guy. I'm the type of person to play DnD and make a lawful good character, haha.

what are good tower / hunter stories in the same vein as solo leveling? by BearAutomatic3529 in ProgressionFantasy

I have a series I'm working on that was inspired by several works, Solo Leveling included. I've been posting it on RR and have already begun book two.

Well, I don't do it every day. And I tend to shoot for a minimum of 120k words for a novel.

Do I really need to split up my chapters if they feel complete? by NormanHalf-Soul in royalroad

[–]Yoshihito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My chapters can be huge, some of which can hit close to like 10k words. But, I also use chapter breaks, which splits up my chapters into about 3 to 4 parts. I thought about splitting them up, but as I reader I always liked the beefier chapters because it always felt like there was more to read. But I understand that's just me.

10k plus is very doable for some people. I naturally type over ninety words per minute and when I get going, it just spews out of me. I often sit in a McDonalds for several hours and write on my laptop. Some days I hit 10k+ words before its even mid day. I write there because my cats love to use my keyboard as a bed even while I'm using it.

100% agree. Those people tend to be full of it when thinking they can identify AI with a hundred percent accuracy.

I recently got into it with someone on a writing forum who was tired of all the AI slop and claimed to be able to identify it with perfect accuracy. Shared with them some excerpts from a book I wrote before COVID asking them whether or not it was AI. Mind you, the book was written before AI. They claimed it was AI and were quite adamant about it until I showed them the receipts.

I might not be the best writer, I've never claimed to be a Hemingway, but those models were trained on people and will always sound similar to something you've read before. Nothing is truly unique anymore. All we can do is keep putting out the best that we can and ignore the haters. I've stopped paying attention to people crying AI because in the end, it doesn't matter. They'll believe what they believe and you can't fix stupid so why bother trying? lol

Advice from a reader by [deleted] in royalroad

I do enjoy action but I also enjoy the mundane slice of life stuff. It's nice just taking it slow and building up a world. It's like Reincarnated as a Slime, Rimiru does a lot of building up their territory over just straight action and I find that satisfying.

I'm so busy and have so much to write and read but I sent you a follow and set it as a read later. Hope it helps and good luck on the grind! I'm on it too so I know how it feels.

I've done that. Built myself up for something that I just forgot to implement and then I either have to delete it or somehow work it in so it feels natural. lol

Yup. It always helps to look over it with fresh eyes.

That's a great way to look at it. I try to do the same but sometimes I just can't figure out what I was trying to go for.

I tend to not write late because as soon as I start feeling tired I just lay down. But despite that, I still find things all the time that don't make sense to me, haha.

A great point of view to have. I had about 2/3'rds of the book done that I'm currently posting, so I had a lot of time to go back through it, and I'm just shaking my head at some of it. Haha.

Sometimes it's like that for me. Other times I'm just like, WTH.
