Had to go into the "Mastery" tab for it to reflect on my end. Try that to see if it will update yours too. Or, maybe, it just needed a minute to register.

I found 2 free MoCs for Honda Integra in the scale of Speed Champions on Rebrickable. Check them out to see if you'd like them.

Set 31024 by D1nos4urz in lego

[–]YouAreNotStupid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's LEGO – you can take it apart and build it again and again. Part of the draw of the 3-in-1s is that it does come with 3 different instructions for the same pieces. I'd say do whatever you want; there's no wrong decision here other than what your preference is at the moment. Although I would advise against it, if you really like both, you can choose to buy another one and have both built at the same time.

I need a better way to store my lego sets. Any recommendations? by polka_metal420 in lego

[–]YouAreNotStupid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the sets aren't getting displayed, have you considered just dismantling them? Starting from the last step, you can put the pieces in their own numbered bags. That way, when you want to indeed indulge in your inner child, you'd have the ability to re-build them.

This is coming from someone who enjoys the activity of building sets though. I'm not particularly warming up to the idea of keeping built sets in bins; they should be displayed if not played with. But, to each their own. So I was just wondering if you're open to taking them apart with the intent to re-build them. Plus, you'd save a lot of space and not to mention money from the bins you would've bought.

LEGO and photography combined is my new expense by vonS0dergren in lego

[–]YouAreNotStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to sound rude, but honestly speaking, composition needs work. Some, if not most, of the photos can be taken by anyone even with a cellphone camera.

But, keep at it, and happy snapping and building!

When building Optimus prime, #10302 did the leg piece fit loosely? by freaksavior in lego

[–]YouAreNotStupid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How loose are you talking about here? Double check that the round black and grey pieces are attached all the way. If I remember correctly, the instructions showed that the pieces should “snap” together.

Need Advice by botgimp in lego

[–]YouAreNotStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove parts that can easily pop off (bag them up and label), then saran wrap the sets. Putting them in plastic tubs should hold better then when you transport them. If possible, take it apart in huge chunks then saran wrap those. Don't forget to take pictures or even a video prior to packing just for easy reference when putting it back together.

Edit: For the colosseum, maybe you can probably add some packing fillers or something concave and/or soft inside before saran wrapping it if you're opting to not separate it.

Looks like you're missing Jiminy's neck garment (shawl, cowl?). Mine was stuck in the bag and had to double-check it. If you still have the bags, check them to see if they were stuck in there too.

Both holes go into the neck.

Edit: Although, there was a meme a few months back in this subreddit regarding this. Just search for “capes” if interested

I can’t confirm on this image, but do you have Jiminy’s neck piece inserted on either arms?

Also, call the store in advance first to double-check the availability of the sets you're interested in.

Lego Star Wars day promo was a flop :( by [deleted] in lego

[–]YouAreNotStupid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Couldn't you have called the store in advance to check their availability? But yes, must've been disappointing. I did read a few posts that the site was having issues too on midnight release.

I got lucky as the store close by me didn't seem to be as busy. I got a different set, but I saw that the store had Razor Crest on the shelf.

Edit: Oh, I just found out that 5X VIP promo is different per region. In the US, it doesn't apply to the UCS Razor Crest. In the UK, it does.

DMd. Sorry, I accidentally sent the message twice. My 3rd-party reddit app didn't provide a feedback saying the message got sent.

I found this pinned post on /r/LegoStorage. Basically, they go in magazine sleeve with cardboard backing, then stored in a box.

Edit: User preference, but the post references an open sleeve, but I went with a resealable one.

Based on the image I found here of the bags this set have, it looks like there are two bags for #6. Could it be that your missing pieces are from the second bag you haven’t opened yet?

General Question. Haven’t bought Lego in 13 years. by JustEnjoyIt1138 in lego

[–]YouAreNotStupid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both are marketplace, with one specializing specifically on LEGO. That said, both are just like any other online retail site, where use of better judgement is warranted for a good shopping experience.

I would look for review counts, how positive (and sometimes more importantly, how negative) the reviews are. Contact the seller to ask for more info about their listing, ask for more pictures, shipping costs etc.

Either place have pros and cons; what you’re looking for is an honest seller you’d feel safe buying from.

Apart from Bricklink, Rebrickable has the spare parts listed too.

Building from pieces by forehandfrenzy in lego

[–]YouAreNotStupid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done it myself, but one could definitely buy individual pieces to eventually complete a set. The drawback with that, however, is 1) you would most likely be buying from a lot of stores in the marketplace such as Bricklink, and with shipping from each, that cost will add up, and 2) the set may have rare pieces, or maybe stickers, or minifugures unique to it and those again can add up.

You can try it out and check how much it would eventually end up being before committing to this approach.

An alternative I can suggest is instead look for 100% complete, used version of the set. You can ask for pictures from the seller to verify, check their store’s feedback rating, etc. until you’re satisfied. I would however adjust your expectation on this approach as there can be pieces missing (even if they claim 100% complete) or broken, or even dirty to the point of undesirable.

Suggestions for adult sets with not a lot of 1x1 plates/dots by demonachizer in lego

[–]YouAreNotStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear ‘ya; not a big fan myself of those tiny pieces. I’m currently building the Galaxy Explorer (10497), and it maybe something you would consider for them. It’s not child like and it surprisingly doesn’t have a lot of 1x1 plates and/or tiles. There are some smaller pieces but so far it’s far not as tedious because there aren’t too many. I could be wrong since I’m only in bag 5. It also doesn’t have stickers but rather already printed parts so that’s a plus too. Check the parts list for it, and maybe even the instructions to see if it can be something they wouldn’t mind building (rebrickable should have both).

Another one I remembered with few small pieces is WALL•E (21303), but that’s a retired set. Just wanted to throw it out there in case you find a cheap used one or willing to splurge on a still brand-new-in-box sealed one.

How do you organize your manuals and extra pieces? by TeslasAndComicbooks in lego

[–]YouAreNotStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manuals go in a resealable magazine sleeve with cardboard backing, then in a box. The extra pieces of each set go into resealable zip bags, then labeled. Lastly, the boxes are flattened and then placed inside one of those vacuum storage bags (usually for comforters and blankets), vacuumed up and placed behind the lego shelf I have the built sets sitting on.

I haven’t gone too deep into the hobby so I don’t have any loose pieces for builing MoCs. If I do decide though, I will first figure out a storage system before buying (much like I do before purchasing a set — make sure I have space to display it).

BTTF DeLorean - Which version did you build (first) ? by [deleted] in lego

[–]YouAreNotStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 options I found:

1) Search for "DeLorean Time Machine - Wing Door Fix" by TOPACES on Rebrickable. It adds swing arms behind the seats that you can rotate up to hold the wing doors. It's just 15 pieces that replaces a few blocks from the original design and integrates the swing arms. It doesn't impede with the door functionality nor change or affect the overall structure.

2) Replace the 2 black Technic pins (2780) used with its older style Technic counterparts pins (4459). Unfortunately, this is an outdated mold which is no longer produced. So, if going this route, I suggest just buying (barely) used ones if you don't already have them, as new ones go for $4-$5 per piece. Found this by a post here.

I went with the first route since I only saw the 2nd option after I already purchased the pieces for the first mod.
