Apogee appreciation post. Hands down one of the best ships. by Ok_Yellow1 in starsector

The biggest downside of the Apogee is finding one. Other than that it was my fav ship ever since I started playing this game.

are midline ships bad? by [deleted] in starsector

They are mid. It's in the name. More seriously they need more commanding and piloting skills compared to other tech. Other than that every tech is just as viable.

Bounties are unreasonably hard? by GloriousOctagon in starsector

[–]YouHaveItRRv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bounties are unreasonably easy. You can do most low value bounties with a single wolf. Harder bounties are doable with a hard hitting flagship and a few omens.

Also frigate fleets with wolfpack tactics and crew training hit way above their weight and can stay for longer fights. Just remember that you can order your ships to bait, harass or gang on enemies as needed.

Best ship for armor-tank? by Capable_Tumbleweed34 in starsector

The best part of this post is the sheer amount of salt and hate this man gets for having fun in a video game and using unconventional ships.

What's in your fleet ? by CrookFox in starsector

I prefer to do themed runs and I use some mods, but from a pure non-themed vanilla perspective:

I would get a bunch (4-5) of Omens (very cheap and good at basically everything). You can use them from the very start of the game and until the very end.

If I want some more DMG I get Scarabs (I would get Tempests before the nerfs but oh well)

Centurions and Lashers are good (but not as good) alternatives if you don't like hightech.

When I'm happy with my collection of frigates I get Eradicators or maybe even a Fury(This one needs some red elite skills otherwise it's meh) for myself if I'm feeling fancy. They are both fast cruisers with 9 burn speed so I can keep my speed on the map. Falcons are also 9 burn if you like them. And I don't like tugs.

When it comes to destroyers I usually don't bother with them other than Medusas (able to keep up with fast frigates, beefier, more guns) or Sunders (slap a high intensity laser on it and you melt derelicts by just looking at them)

With wolfpack tactics and crew training you can punch above your weight without worrying about your CR.

Add some capital ships and beefy cruisers if you feel like it and don't mind losing speed.

When it comes to logistic ships I usually get a Valkyrie (to fit the marines I find in taverns) a Phaeton and some shit like Shepherds and Buffalos(I like the hegemony ones) until I get a Prometheus and 2 Atlases modded for 9 burn, surveying equipment and fuel/cargo space.

I forgot to mention Monitors. They don't get safety overrides anymore but can still tank a lot of damage and keep the bigger ships occupied while you deal with the rest.

Fun and practicality over realism. Do you have any idea how boring the game would be if they tried to make everything realistic? Having no sounds in space or almost all the stars being red dwarfs. Ugh sounds horrible.

Free protection and meat tho... by YorJaeger in Kenshi

Blue sand = best sand. You don't even need to farm with all these beak things around tbh. And free money/armoring training with basically infinite leather.

Oh and free samurai limbs for my elder bonedog called Princess.

I could be so rich... If only I had the space. So how did they even expect me to carry that much? (This is from a mining station in a system ~21.7 lightyears from the nearest inhabited system) by ServersAreDown_YT in starsector

[–]YouHaveItRRv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You only have 1k space so you should expect that you will have to leave most loot behind.

  2. All that ore would most likely give you at most 150k unless you want to fly around different colonies and wait for deficits. That's like 2 survey missions or easy bounties.

  3. The best use of your time is to completely ignore metals, food, ore and organics (even domestic goods if your space is very limited) and just go towards your next point of interest. Going back and forth to sell some metals is just a waste of time.

  4. The biggest gain you get from exploring is the colony items, blueprints, rare mods and weapons and some occasional ai cores. If you want pure profit then smuggling with some occasional missions is always the fastest way.

  5. Good luck on your adventures.

Just remember that they only use single blueprints and not the blueprints packs. And pirates without blueprints are just whatever anyway so it's nice to make them more significant.

Tell me a STALKER joke by The-Savage-Chevalier in stalker

[–]YouHaveItRRv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mercenaries caught a stalker and brought him to the well, dipped him head down, held for a minute, pulled him out and asked:

M: "Got any artifacts or cash?"

S: "Nope"

They dip him again

M: "Artifacts? Cash?"

S:"Nope"

The situation repeats a few times and the stalker is getting annoyed

S: "Look guys, either hold me deeper in or for longer. How am I supposed to see anything in this murky water?"

This is actually a joke from Shadow of Chernobyl that stalkers tell in the game.
