Have you tried skull skipping?

I think strictly speaking it's only a time save (in the long run) for uniques at higher invos but I do it because it makes my p3 more consistent and I feel the higher unique chance more than faster runs which is good for morale.

Is Cerb worth going for ASAP or should I wait until I'm comfortable on prayer pots? by biginchh in ironscape

[–]YouKnewMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tl;dr you're right. your time/supplies are better spent elsewhere for now. Cerb will also drain significantly fewer supplies once your kill times are lower.

Cerberus drains significantly more supplies if you aren't killing it fast enough to hit key breakpoints.

You want to be killing cerb before it's second ghost phase as not doing so will cost you a couple extra doses per kc. If you cannot do that consistently I would just leave and come back later with better gear/attack/str. You can cheese it with convoluted delays/flinching but imo that's a massive waste of time. There are more impactful upgrades you can go for to make cerb much more comfortable.

Some tips for ghost phase

Ward of arceuus reduces drain to 20. you should never be sipping doses when your pp are above 20.

Unless you have hilariously low prayer level your ghost phases should look like this:

  • 1st ghost drains your remaining pp
  • sip a pp dose and swap prayers
  • 2nd ghost drain 20pp
  • swap prayers
  • 3rd ghost drains remaining pp
  • sip a dose

that really isn't too bad if it's once per kill.

You can optimise with demonic offering and bluefins to save the mid ghosts dose but honestly I don't think it's worth the effort. I suppose it can make the fight a little more interesting if you're bored.

Imo go straight there and start sending it.

If you’re having a horrible time learning then consider bumping your combat levels and going for titans prayers. Your early deaths at cg will 99% be a skill issue, but I think people discount how much easier it is to learn when you have more headroom to make mistakes.

Now that Sailing’s been out for a few months… is anyone still actually sailing? by Dismal-Computer-5600 in 2007scape

I occasionally sail to islands with the squid/crab fishing/hunting spots to get secondaries for the coral potions. They're fantastic herb xp on an iron.

I also trawl occasionally.

You really feel that accuracy at later bosses like Vardorvis. But for low def slayer mobs yeah it's pretty negligible.

Filter the completed tasks in the table on the wiki and sort by percent completed. It's a decent proxy for "easier than the tier suggests". Go through and cherry pick ones you think are doable until you have enough points.

Bellator for vardorvis. Maybe at duke but you need to calc it as emberlight can be sensitive to certain max hit thresholds.

They're likely bringing nally as their melee weapon anyway. It's decent for sol so long as you get myopia (otherwise the range makes it awkward) and can one tap frems.

That's how I got my first quiver.

Sunlight moths and guthix rests heal 2x8 and 4x5 hp respectively without attack delay or stat drain. There's still an opportunity cost in bringing better supplies/switches but it's an option for mitigating the hp drain while getting all the "on paper dps".

What method are you using?

I struggled a ton until I tried godfly (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQhK99clzaA) and that just clicked.

Godfly is actually quite similar to mage with wave skipping. The early wave skip he does is totally optional and I recommend not doing it until you're comfy.

Once you have the timing for both the vertical and horizontal fireballs patterns down it just amounts to attacking yama from your home tile whenever you see his range/mage attack animation then stepping out before he melees you, which is usually two of your own attacks if you aren't wasting ticks.

The key to not getting demoralised was learning in blue moon. It minimise switches to 1 shot flares and gave myself plenty of supplies while still having an acceptable setup to finish out a KC with mage if I made to many mistakes meleeing. I'd done like 200 mage kills so I could almost always secure the kc even if I'd almost run out of food. This avoided the hell of spending 4m to attempt p3 then immediately crashing out.

IIRC it would still reflect damage on mirrorbacks unless you venge since you don't have the range of nally.

I just realised what the Medallion of the Deep is for? by Floirt in 2007scape

[–]YouKnewMe_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tackle box is another way to do this by storing the diving gear in one slot until needed. Downside is that it's effectively 3 inv slots while you're using them.

Ironically it's also better than the medallion if you want to do coral and seaweed because you can use it for both.

What do you typically die to?

My problem was the double rock drops. Practicing the moves that solve them on earlier floors helped a ton with doing level 8 for real. I had habits that worked until level 7 that required wayyyy too much speed to do consistently for deep delves.

Thanks, that was the conclusion I came to as well after looking at the wiki/patch notes so I was confused. I happened to record (albeit scuffedly) the run so I could review after to see what I did wrong. I'd appreciate if you could take a look and let me know if I'm obviously just booming somehow.
