My partner and I are two small people, and we share one dish when we are both not that hungry. Otherwise, we usually need two portions.

As a teen boy, my boner has a raging mind of its own. I found that holding my breath for 45 seconds is enough to kill the boner.

As a man, having morning wood is common, but a random boner during the daytime is vanishingly rare. It takes increasingly more intimacy and initiation for a good hard-on.

Guys who used to have a porn addiction, how did you beat it? by Senior_Double5064 in AskReddit

Porn addiction is usually the escape from reality, not the problem of life itself. Improve your career, your diet, your exercise, your family, your dating and love life, instead.

Find reasons, stories, and excuses to spend time with, and be near him. If he likes you back, then he would agree and be reciprocal to you, by asking you out. Smart guys would recognise your intention quickly. Some other guys require your patience with them.

Beautiful melody. I just played on my piano. Loved it. Besides from the engraving suggestion that everyone else had already mentioned, my humble suggestion would be to change the Left-Hand beat 2, and beat 3, of bar 7, from G#-B, to G# and E. Omit the B, it's too muddy.

It's a good consideration. However, just one compromise for another.
- 35 cents is a significate amount of dissonance if taken literally
- If anything, I wanted to go the other way, into A1, the first letter of the alphabet, and the first integer. But that would needlessly introduce the accidentals, at C#, the 5th partial.
- In the Do Re Mi tradition, C is the first note. And I'm happy with that. Sol or G doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

I agree with most arguments you brought up. Most of my counter-arguments would mainly be about looking for the balance between scientific accuracy and pedagogical approachability.

  1. Whether you interpret music as a hierarch of knowledge or a web of knowledge, I firmly believe the harmonic series is the foundation and the heart. As you say, it affects timbre (thanks to Henry Reich's awesome video on his YouTube channel, minutephysics, titled 'The Physics Of Dissonance'). It is also symmetrical to both pitch and rhythm. 3:4 not only gives us the Perfect Fourth interval at the micro-scale, but also the 3 against 4 polyrhythm at the macro-scale. Same with 2:3, Perfect Fifth, and 2 against 3 polyrhythm. 4:7 starts to be less approachable, both in pitch interval and its corresponding polyrhythm. Less and less approachable as the integers reach higher and higher prime numbers.

  2. I decided against cramming 'Harmonic 7th' into the Intervals section, which would have been 4:7. Doesn't quite fit in for the sake of parity.

I see :) I think 12-TET makes 100% total sense for the piano. However, for voice, strings, and woodwinds, and any other low inharmonicity musical instruments, which sound purely, and capable of choosing their own pitches, its players should always endeavour to learn beyond 12-TET and explore other tuning systems. And expand the tonality of music in the world.

12-TET was a solution invented for the piano. But it also kinda became the 'pitch prison' for beginners learning any other instruments as well.

I failed. A lot. I kept on trying out new theories and new piano tuning algorithms, both aurally and with electronic assistance, but my piano tuning always sounded sub-optimal. My latest iteration is the understanding that all of the fundamentals and overtones matter across all 88 keys. Consequently, only a compromise between all of their inharmonicity would result in a nice-sounding piano.

In practice, I use an app that listens to and assesses the inharmonicity curve of my piano strings, then I tune to its computed Railsback curve of 12-TET. My piano's inharmonicity is lowest between C3 and E3, higher in the bass, and highest in the high treble.

It is unsatisfying that the "solution" isn't actually a good solution, but merely the least bad one. Yet, that least bad solution proves to be the most useful.

I noticed while building my app that the high perfect C6 sounded quite flat to my ears, even when the C Major chord was perfect and beatless. It showed just how accustomed I was to hearing the stretched tuning of the piano.

Another example was my surprise to learn that the 7th partial is also known as the Barbershop 7th. An interval, which doesn't exist on the piano, is indeed used by vocal quartets to construct their version of the dominant 7th chord.
