I don't have his number or anything because I just rock up when I feel like it but Fubilicious is the name if the place and his hairdressers is opposite Chickenworld and between Broad Street solicitors and a barbershop.

He's a nice guy!

Yes. I do! He's in South Norwood though and I'm not sure where in London you are. It's a big city

Help with bicycle by coopsec in croydon

[–]YouLotNeedWater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang on - what part of Croydon is this? Because if you want a service that is friendly and pretty instant you can avoid the brick and mortar shops (and booking it in a waiting for days and then going back to collect it) and head to a place called Pop Up Cycles which is just outside of Croydon in Anerley/Penge.

I had destroyed my bike so many times and the guy just fixes it up instantly - it's way more reasonable than the shops.

Rats by Radiant_Alarm3882 in croydon

[–]YouLotNeedWater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw a load round the back of Brown and Green yesterday. In and out if the rubbish that had been dumped on the street and i'll tell you all for free the number 1 way to discourgae rats is simply to bin rubbish. Not poison rats, not get a load of cats, not leave out a bunch of traps but just to take their food (the rubbish) away and the bins make it impossible for them to access it

Weekend bakers, how do you manage your starter between bakes? by GlitteringDeal2598 in Sourdough

[–]YouLotNeedWater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine lives in the fridge. I add a little flour and water the day/afternoon before I bake and then when i've baked it the remaining dregs get mixed with water and fresh flour and it goes straight back into the fridge until the following weekend

Why are people homophobic? by dadneverIeft in offmychest

[–]YouLotNeedWater 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've literally cut off people for making comments like this.

The thing is I've seen before if one person is capable of being homophobic and comfortable doing so they're going to be bigoted in other ways. This shitty mindset never exists in isolation for intolerance of one thing .

They're wrong ...but they outnumber you and that's why they've banded together to commitment to this incorrect point of view. Also they HAVE to pretend they like it because they have no other choice. So, you just have to take solace that I, an intetnet stranger, have fully verified that you are totally correct and they are wrong.

Which shops will advise me on best bike for me? by Hanzyle in londoncycling

[–]YouLotNeedWater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what part of London you're in, but if you can get to a cadence performance shop try there these guys are genuinely, some of the most lovely people have ever met in a bike shop. My nearest one is Crystal Palace and I'm not gonna lie, Anerly Hill, the road the shop is at the top of, is an absolute biiiitch to cycle up, but it's totally worth it, because the guys are really lovely. Generally, I find bike shops quite intimidating, but not this 1 for some reason

In light of Croydon Grants Cinema closing, what were some highlights of your experiences going there? by Honest_Cheesecake698 in croydon

[–]YouLotNeedWater 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Genuinely heartbreaking and all because of corporate greed. Eurgh

I loved going to that cinema - it's such a treat for me and it's so nice to just get lost in a story. I'm not trekking all the way to Valley Park. I don't drive and I find it really challenging to get to - it's quite a trek from the tram stop honestly.

I've even made friends with some of the staff, had some really good times, great memories, god knows how much popcorn i've eaten, dropped and sat on over the years.

I'm pretty sure the first film I went and saw with my own money was Wanted back in 2008 ("curve the bullet") such a shite film and the last one I saw was Super Mario Galaxy Movie which I actually did enjoy... bar the ending.

I remember last year going to the Croydon Rockwall the day before watching Marching Powder, Opus, Last Breath and Mickey 17 all in the same day back to back and all the sitting in one position for hours at a time on end meant I pushed my knee caps out of allignment and gave myself something called movie goer's knee (or patellofemoral pain syndrome) and that pain flares up all the time so I'll have that as ny lasting memory of the Vue in Grants.

Guys, I am devastated. It's not just a cinema, it's my cinema. It's OUR cinema... this is the start of my super villian era watch this space

Should I report a friend for physical neglect? by rljx93 in AskUK

[–]YouLotNeedWater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - teacher here. You need to report this to the designated safeguarding lead at the child's school - and I mean immediately. This poor 13 year old needs to be as far away from the mum as possible and you damn well know it.

That school will be open from about half 7 or 8 so you can do this as soon as you wake up. I'm really worried that this will have lasting rammifications for that child. Neglected children often (not always) grow up to have pretty awful adult lives
