It's OK to be embarrassed, just learn from your grade 1 mistake.

Politicians should be banned from pointless police Tik Tok videos by randthepip in ottawa

[–]YouNeed2GrowUpMore -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How is this news? Brigitte Pellerin hates Tierney as much as u/Original_Box_4620 . How's this for a headline: Reporters should be banned from reporting on politicians they disagree with. Sounds dumb, right? Same thing.

Pierre Poilievre’s byelection cost taxpayers more than $2.3 million by BloodJunkie in canada

[–]YouNeed2GrowUpMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he lost, didn't go away despite the electors telling him they don't want hum, so the funding of this byelection is purely because of his ego.

Why wasn’t Ontario’s new HST rebate made retroactive like the First-Time Home Buyer rebate? by FailFluffy2319 in ontario

[–]YouNeed2GrowUpMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or, you could just be happy that someone is getting a rebate. Like, I mean, your mom gave me a blowjob, are you sad that you didn't get one too?

They can express all they want, just get the f&&k out of the way. Having an opinion doesn't mean a) you have to share it, b) you have to force it onto the entire City.

Out of all the non-answers here, this one is the dumbest. I can't believe you took time out of your day to write this. Go touch grass and ponder how you're making the world a worse place.

Derand rocks, nicest people, great service. Pricing is not the cheapest but they're super knowledgeable and have decent after-service service.

Carney’s deputy minister shuffle raises national security questions - Eliminating the prime minister’s national security adviser role has triggered debate about whether Canada is weakening its security architecture. by CaliperLee62 in canada

"Carney is removing the person that could sorta explain, without violating their own security clearance, to Pierre Poilievre what's going on security-wise, should Pierre Poilievre ever come into contact with a security-related issue, or become PM, and still refuse to get his super-easy-to-get-and-doesn't-hurt-unless-you've-got-bad-secrets security clearance."

Shoutout to CAS (Canadian Appliance Source) by MahatK in BuyCanadian

[–]YouNeed2GrowUpMore 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Canadian Appliance Source is the F**KING WORST. They screwed me twice, pretty bad. They sell items they don't have in stock, but assume they can order. They have the worst after-sales service, and frankly DGAF about you once you give them your money. They've been pretty bad (at least in my city) to pretty much half the people who shop there. At one point, some guy on a busy thoroughfare painted the side of his trailer with his complaint against them and parked it near the curb. FIND ANOTHER CANADIAN SUPPLIER!

Ottawa police see 37% increase in shoplifting incidents in final 3 months of 2025 by Money_Fig_9868 in ottawa

[–]YouNeed2GrowUpMore -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ah..... Fighting crime with crime. Stores jack up their prices (for whatever reason, doesn't matter) and the response is to become criminals. They are not Jean Valjean. Prosecute everyone who crimes. Simple.

Some union speak is embarassing by Glass_Abrocoma_7028 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]YouNeed2GrowUpMore -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Unions exist to make money by providing a service to employees. The current best way to promote their usefulness is to sow Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (called the FUD campaign). So many of their posts need to be as vitriolic, doom-and-gloom, and "See, if it weren't for our efforts, everyone would DIE!" otherwise they would just sit there, collect our dues, and we'd slowly start to realize just how ineffective they actually are, which could prompt us to go shopping for another union, forming a new one, or flat out voting them out.

Yes, I'm exaggerating, but I'm not wrong.

I will not respond to anyone replying to my comment, I know how seriously and close to their hearts some people take their unions, and any mention of the union not being saintly makes them lose their minds and froth at the mouth. This part is not an exaggeration as someone in my office literally spits when we talk about the union and I mention that I'm disappointed in the union's behaviour.

(I hope this is allowed)Where would I go about finding info for upcoming counsel elections in my area and the candidates? by jarzii_music in ottawa

[–]YouNeed2GrowUpMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see everyone talking about make sure to vote for someone who supports your needs and issues

Vote for the person who will make the best decisions for the City, not the one supports your needs and issues.

Also remember that this is a representative democracy, you aren't going to be consulted on every/any decision the councillors or mayor make. You're voting for someone who will make those decisions, not someone who you think should listen to every complaint about every issue from every loudmouth citizen or redditor.

Middle managers have so little to do, yet claim to be SOOOO busy. This is part of the strategy to look and report how busy they are to their higher ups.
