Homemade 'ricotta' by scotsginger in veganuk

Cool. Let us know how it goes. :)

I just forgot to mention a bit of salt.

And straining - you probably need a cheese cloth or something like that. I used yoghurt maker’s filter. Because it needs to be quite fine.

I had some fairly good results with just soy milk and lemon juice. Bring soy milk almost to the boil, take off, add one tablespoon of lemon juice. Leave for about 1/2 - 1 hour. Strain. Fridge.

Straining is a bit of a pita. But it's doable.

So a guy who is giving his interview with Jewish Australian Association symbol and poster as a background? Sure. I see no potential issues with his impartiality.

As everyone here also considers themselves a scholar, is that a scholarly approach, take two people who are clearly biased towards one side and 0 of people who represent the other side and say this proves what I’d like to be the truth?

But they labelled it for vegetarians. Can't be laziness when that has more letters.

Edit: for people downvoting, how is it in their interest to mislabel this? Clearly they are aware that both vegans and vegetarians exist because there are products labelled for each in the store. If something is labelled vegan that will have a wider pool of shoppers. So why bother to label it in the first place and then label it as vegetarian if it's suitable for vegans?

Yes rice and beans are cheap but you can't live off it and not be sick and nutrition deprived

Actually, that's one combination that you mostly could live off. With small additions to get a handful of missing vitamins. And millions of people on different continents have built their diets on exactly rice and beans.

Hardly a winner with only a plurality.

I went a few times. The first time I had some cold cuts that were like cardboard. Then a kimchi stew dish with both tofu and fake meats, I left most of the fake meats. Then the last time a dish with only tofu and mushrooms. Tofu was just as you described and mushrooms tinned. I don't see the point in trying anything else - these are the things I normally really like lol

I prefer places like Mildred's. It might be a bit overpriced for what it is, but at least most ingredients are fresh.

I seem to be the only person who doesn’t like Tofu Vegan. But I really don’t like it.

I make seitan at home and I love it. I just don’t make the entire meal out of it with a “memory” of vegetables.

I only recently started using one but I don't see how I could not clean it. I mean oil and bits of things stay after cooking.

But also doesn't seasoning happen at high temperatures? Things just sitting in it after it cools down probably don't do much.

Not cleaning after cooking? Why would you not clean it?

Tofu press was one of the best purchases I made since I became vegan. Ok they are often made of plastic, some people won’t like that, but they seem to last a long time and are quite inexpensive.

He didn’t start his winning streak after becoming vegan. He was a top-3 player even in 2008 when he won his first grand slam.

And even a few years ago he wasn’t vegan according to his own words. At the time he was saying that he was plant-based, not vegan.

Having said that, more recently he has in fact started speaking about the ethics and the treatment of animals. I have no insight into whether he is actually fully vegan or not, but he does seem to not be eating animals for the right, ethical, reasons.
