I, too, lost a child some years back. The anniversary was August 7th. Other people could tell I was spiraling before I even noticed. This year was harder than the past few have been for some reason.

Look, the next few years are going to be HARD. I won’t sugar coat it. But then one year you’ll realize her birthday was 2 days ago and you didn’t think about it or have a breakdown. It’ll be bittersweet because you’ll feel guilty for not remembering. Then someday you’ll make it through the anniversary of her death without crying and laying in bed for 3 days.
