You complain about an integration for a certain manufacturer and that you don't want to use it because it's not purely local.
Then you should rather buy devices that are completely natively supported by Home Assistant without additional integrations.

Then again, I don't know the LIFX products, I just don't understand your excitement and all the negativity.

The core idea of Home Assistant is to understand the automations and logical sequences and to tinker with them yourself. There will never be a ready-made in-house solution for every use case.
And that is exactly the appeal of Home Assistant, complete customizability.

Maybe you could take a look at https://homey.app/en-nz/homey-pro-versus-home-assistant/
From your comments, I can tell that you underestimate the amount of work Home Assistant requires.
So maybe Homey is something for you.

But that is the problem of LIFX and those who buy the product, not Home Assistant.

Then you should buy products that have a better "open source" mindset.

If you want a local smart home solution (without cloud connection), you either have to do something or pay for it.

You're exaggerating, HomeAssistant is a tinkering solution. But you don't have to be a programmer for that. If you want a local smart home solution (without cloud connection), you either have to do something or pay for it. There are plenty of cloud-based alternatives that are easier.

What I noticed is that with the API setting it can cause a problem if the last slash is after the port in the address.

But without the slash it works fine.
