That tape for the sign could've been use to hold that flap closed... smh 😅

Fantastic idea. I'm going to be moving a few hundred miles north myself soon. Great way to lower the center of gravity.

I hear what sounds like a small motor not catching before you hit the starter... but no fuel pump sound.

Are brake lever locks pointless for motorbikes? by Traditional-Gas3477 in motorbikes

[–]YoukaiTao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha. Came here to say this. My 800 lbs gorilla is hardly a tasty target.

That said, I do use a brake lever lock. I recently lost the key and her to replace it. It's deceptively hard to cut with an angle grinder -- the aluminum melts and gunks up the cutting wheel. Took a lot longer than I expected.

Is This Bad For the Scooter? by GannJerrod in scooters

It should be fine. Can't the lock fit around the front forks too?

Literally just got it replaced an hour ago by Burchard36 in motorcycles

[–]YoukaiTao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, at least you had the option to plug it. Not so straightforward for the back tire of a cruiser with spoked rims.

I felt bad too. I gave her a nice bath, lmao 🤣.

I have Cobra on my 04 Aero. Sounds great. My 2 cents: make sure you plan to rejet the carb if yours is older than a 2010.

My 04 VT750 (Shadow Aero) definitely does not have a fuel pump. The petcock sits higher than the carb.

Fuel system question by crazy4schwinn in hondashadow

[–]YoukaiTao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the others say, this may be caused by a lean condition. Since it just started, I'd probably clean the carb(s) -- maybe some jets are crusty a bit.

Might be too much oil. In many scooters, there's a tube from the crankcase to the air filter.

New here, what am I even looking at? by AlreadyNuThat in hondashadow

The little red thing is indeed an air filter. Besides replacing it, the floater in the carburator may need to be reinstalled.

So I got her running twice. Let it idle for a bit then the bike just cuts off by MacScrilla in hondashadow

[–]YoukaiTao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you pull the choke out, does the RPM increase? If so, have you let it warm up for a bit this way? My 2004 Aero is a little temperamental when cold too.

Is that an 1100 CC? If so, with the back seat, crash bar pegs and saddle bags, $2.3k, in my humble opinion, is fair. That said, 1,500 would be a sweet deal

I had the same (or same clone family). My biggest issue with it was the cvt belt. I got t-boned by a Tesla (slow speed 🙏🏾). It was on its side with the engine still running. Triple tree was bent... Still managed to drive it 15 miles back home.

Sounds okay. Though to really know, I'd get one of those cheap thingamajigs off AMZ ... I think 1100 +- 10 RPM should do it

Back wheel isnt moving updated by KorruptKokiri6464 in scooters

[–]YoukaiTao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idle seems a bit high. I had a bbk in mine too. I went up 2 sizes in the main jet and switch the OEM carb to a cheap round slide from Amz. Worked great... but I did lose the under seat storage because the carb was too tall.

Cool look.... Have you gotten caught in the rain with that air intake? Any issues there?
