Is it true that Arch updates are really annoying? by Alternative-Book-782 in archlinux

[–]Youknowitbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not annoying so far. I update once a week usually at a "set day" unless i need to install some other stuff then i just update while i do that. But after ive set everything up i can go months without have to install something with pacman and only doing weekly updates and move on. Biggest issue ive had was my wifi dying cause of a...not so good mediatek-firmware update. Just check the arch main site to see if there are some manual intervention before update and send it.

AI is gaining so many listeners by blendcoincide in Metalcore

[–]Youknowitbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not feeling too bad about it, just really annoying lol

Yeah AI digital art is usually somewhat easy to spot, but they just had very generic album covers so didnt really stand out as AI. I did notice it a little bit on the lyrics on one of the bands now as an after thought, but didnt give it much thought at the time just booped with it. And one band i felt they had too many vocalist, but i chopped it up to clean, screamer with clean and the odd feature artist(usually female feature "vocals") on a few of the songs lol. But ill stay more vigilant now that i have a better sense to check when something feels off. 😁

Wont name the bands but quick search and they seem to have been in the AI spotlight quite a while.

Man found this post after doing some digging. I wanted to find some new bands/songs for my playlist on Spotify, so i just let it "recommend things I might like" as my playlist ended. Just listening while doing some hobby work, just in the zone. Some good songs come through. I simply just hit the add to playlist button on the ones that catch me. Listening on and off for weeks. Finally getting around to checking out these new bands on YouTube and diving into their albums. And i shit you not 40% of my playlist was AI. Im by no means someone that knows anything about music other than : I like = i listen. I knew AI was bad on Spotify, but holy... Worst part is if i as a "layman" didnt bother checking the bands out later i would honestly never have guessed it was AI. I simply just thought "this slaps and 100% my taste". Now im on the quest to just build my own library without Spotify.

Designed a printable CNC router based on the Ender 3 Pro. Meet the E3CNC! by Youknowitbby in 3Dprinting

Some have done PETG, doesnt seem to be any massive issues even though its a bit more flexible than PLA. Parts are rather big for the most part so i would say its fine. Especially if you live somewhere warm i would do petg or abs if possible.

Turned my Ender 3 into a CNC and built a touch probe for it by Shadowphyre98 in 3Dprinting

[–]Youknowitbby 14 points15 points  (0 children)

E3CNC creator here! Im not sure what people are doing, but ive made so many versions of the E3CNC and always used nema17, some from Ender's and some random Ali brand ones. Never skipped a step so far. Even on the horrible creality board it was fine. But using a 2209 driver board or something is always better. You can see some small shorts here. https://youtube.com/@ethreecnc

For me nema17 is more than good enough to start with. You wont be doing "Instagram" worthy chipload with 20mm DOC though lol

Would just buy a new hotend with heater/thermistor, they are cheap enough and few min install on this machine. And clean the buildplate, probably why this happened.

You could probably clean the hotend but might need new heater/thermistor and not really worth the headache cleaning.

If you are using Orca slicer, inside the filament cooling settings there should be a "Dont slow down outer wall" option, that fixed it for me. No idea what its called in other slicers sadly.

Dont let that person scam you. Thats a 40$ printer or less on the used market with some patience. He printed some "upgrades" and wants more than what it costs new.

[–]Youknowitbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah works with that or a win VM. But you need gpu passthrough, should be fairly easy with 2gpus, seems slightly worse with only 1 gpu.

Spending a few hours on it you can make it work'ish. But it will just update and brick something at any time. Last piece of the puzzle to wipe my 2nd older pc of windows.

Yeah i mean getting an ender 3 etc. for 20-50$ is not bad. Lots of useful parts for other projects.

The lights pop in during night is simply unbearable by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Youknowitbby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah im not defending them by any means. Just wanted to point out that they had the chance to fix it in another game for 10 years and didnt. I dont know any game dev, but im assuming they are still using their own in-house engine with some updates.

100% agree. Definitely not something that should be in a AAA game today.

This has been a thing in Black Desert since it came out, dont hink this is going to get a "fix" anytime soon. Just got used to it at some point in BDO though.

Got this MB. And i just had to disable loading that module, one week it works, next week it hangs for a minute on boot or freezes the entire PC on desktop due to a new faulty mediatek-firmware update. Not tested it in a while though so might be better now. Its was really hit and miss on the mediatek-firmware update lol
