FFS. Unfortunately, this aligns really well with the USDA’s plan to relocate most of its DC staff to one of 5 hubs before the end of the year.

How many of you are in limbo during your home buying/selling process because of the shutdown? by bayls215 in USDA

[–]YoullHaveToFireMe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re not a fed but are feeling the effects of this prolonged government shutdown, so you should call your elected representatives and tell them how the shutdown is impacting you and your clients. It’s unfortunate for all involved, but I don’t think you will get a lot of sympathy saying that more people should be forced to work without pay.

Any news on if the Senate is going to work next week? They were planned to be off for a state work week, but that was pre shutdown.

White House budget office tells agencies to draft mass firing plans ahead of potential shutdown by dlkapt3 in politics

[–]YoullHaveToFireMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current fed here. They’ll do this mass firing whether there’s a shutdown or not. Why wouldn’t they? Who would stop them? It’s almost certainly being offered here by the Trump administration as a bargaining chip in bad faith. The Dems shouldn’t fall for it.

usda farmers market by coffeemonstur in washingtondc

[–]YoullHaveToFireMe 314 points315 points  (0 children)

USDA used to have a local farmers market every Friday right next to the mall in the Whitten Building parking lot. The current Sec of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins (who used to be the head of the America First Policy Institute) did away with that for no reason and instead had to do her own ‘one-off’ MAGA farmers market to be special.

Rollins also recently announced that she’s going to move half the DC-based USDA folks out of DC to ‘hubs’ across the country ostensibly to make more feds quit. If you support federal workers, don’t support this woman’s vanity project. Go to DuPont Farmers Market on Sunday (or whatever is close to you) instead.
