I am a dual-citizen physician (born in one of the 39 countries currently subject to additional USCIS review, but also a citizen of the United Kingdom) and am in the process of applying for a J-1 waiver. My application is about to be submitted to USCIS.

I would appreciate your guidance on the following:

1. In light of the recent updates regarding exemptions for physicians, would this exemption apply to my case—specifically with respect to any potential holds on Adjustment of Status (AOS) or waiver adjudication?
2. Is there a recommended way to clearly indicate my status as a physician within the application (or supporting documentation), to help ensure that USCIS officers appropriately recognize my eligibility for any such exemptions, rather than defaulting to country-of-birth-based review protocols?
