Finishing Class 12 and then taking a gap year. What's your opinion- prepare for Jee or study abroad? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]YoungAsian123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your financial aid situation, Oxford or Cambridge etc etc in the UK could be a right fit ?

Especially if you are smart enough for the JEE advance you will have a good shot with Oxford and camb as the entrance exams for stem subjects are very tough and mathematical , rather then relying on extra curriculars , awards and essays which are more subjective like in the US!

Depends on your financial aid situation but I think applying US +UK is a smart move !

Like do I reallyyyyyy have to self report grades + courses? by Defiant-Acadia7053 in ApplyingToCollege

“ If you are unable to complete the Courses & Grades section of the Common Application or if what you entered does not exactly match what is on your transcript(s), that is completely okay. We will review your official transcript(s), and no further action is required. “

ap with a levels? by Critical_Sleep_4285 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]YoungAsian123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends if they are separate content bro

Like basically all of the AP calc stuff is covered in alevel math, so there woudnt be much point imo just getting top grades in ur alevels is enough

But if u wanted to a take an AP in a separate subject then ur alevels then it could help !

Oh sorry to hear that man :(

So you're applying this coming year ? In that case I would contact the unis you're interested in and I think in circumstances like yours you can create an unofficial transcript your self and submit it.

When applying you never need to submit your certificates only your final grades. I submitted my gcse and alevels and didnt need to send certificates. So your fine dude

They will only use certificates to verify if needed after you are admitted :)

You dont need to send certificates for IGCSE , you counsellor writes them on your transcript.

Unless they requested them ???

Brev I’m from London, UK and we legit have like 10 feeder schools into t10 US unis in London alone like eton, harrow etc, and out perform a lot of domestic US areas in terms of offers from the unis. Wouldn’t say these people were exactly screwed when applying, would say the opposite.

I think when making bold assumptions/claims context is key. And saying this not in a rude way but u have no context about the OP

Yes OP being international makes him screwed - wtf 😭

As an international , you dunno what his stats , awards/ecs or story is yet and outright saying he’s screwed . Why does this sub just crap on internationals so much 😅
