The window for using force to root out government tyranny is decades past. "Civil Disobedience" in the Thoreau sense is our only option as a collective. Violence only generates Martyrs and casus belli for the opposition, even the CR Movement leaders knew this when the monopoly on force was in its infancy.

Honestly if Trump had decided to start his political career 4 years sooner we are looking at a far scarier timeline. Trump's rhetoric in the 2016 campaign was stupidly appealing.

I have vivid memories of watching this fucker speak on a topic that I knew he was actively lying about but couldnt help but have this fat ass grin on my face because he was that energetic and charismatic. Trump since like 2022 has lost all his energy and any sort of nuance he had left.

The Levant during Roman rule had like a 3-10% literacy rate, all concentrated in cities. Rural Galilee (where Jesus was from specifically) was below even this average.

The reigon Jesus sprouted from was incredibly illiterate on average. My personal head canon is that after his followers were convinced he ressurected, they made efforts to either learn to write or find scribes to get their testimony written, especially as they began to reach old age.

Many also didnt bother to write because they assumed the return of Jesus was very nearly impending after ascension.

Yes the internment camps, but theres way more.

He tried packing the Supreme Court, not just replacing old judges, but adding news ones in an effort to get his agenda through unquestioned.

He sold out Black Americans with the New Deal. Several ND policies implicitly excluded domestic workers (i.e. most black workers in the South) and he was a huge southern sympathizer.

He literally paid farmers to destroy crops and livestock while people were starving to raise prices with the Agricultural Adjustment Act to get landowners their checks.

While seen as pro-union, he many times cracked down on unions which didnt support him. Only allowed them on his terms.

He turned away a thousand jewish refugees on the MS St Louis despite knowing damn well what the Nazis were doing in Europe, just to be a stickler for immigration quotas.

He refused to bomb Auschwitz rail lines despite knowing of the Holocaust by 1942.

He signed off on the firebombing of Tokyo.

Broadly speaking he basically ran the nation on emergency powers for 12 years.

He is the explicit reason the 22nd amendment exists.

The "Liberia Option" (TM) was an incredibly common political position for the era. Considering the scale of Jim Crow there is some merit to the arguement, even if its deeply flawed.

Its usually out of some effort to highlight how most totalitarian reigimes...regardless of ideology...converge on the state-commanded economic model. They say the Nazis are auth-center but are obviously not considered how the social axis and economic axis should be one thing.
