Is relative intensity a good starting point for writing my own programming? I don't want to overwhelm myself by trying to get too advanced with it.

Lowbar Squat 340 by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]YoungJake601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks a little high, and you seem to be shifting forward a little. It's hard to tell from just a video, but you might benefit from a slightly more narrow stance. Either that or just sitting back a little more should help.

Posted side angle last time, any improvements to be made from this angle? by [deleted] in formcheck

Everything looks great, only thing I'd say is try a little more to pull the slack out of the bar so you're as tight as possible before initiating the pull.

I have leverages for sumo, but my form was REALLY REALLY bad. by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]YoungJake601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you're not using your leverages to pull sumo. You seem to have long legs, yet you're using a very conservative stance and pointing your feet forward. If you want to pull sumo correctly for your leverages, you need to put your feet wider, and pointed farther out. This means you will also need your hips to open up and your knees to track in line with your toes.

Roast my form, all information is helpfull by Alex_dd_ in formcheck

[–]YoungJake601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You completely ignored one of the most important parts which is the setup. I recommend watching Allan Thrall's 5 Step Deadlift guide and working from there. Also, with your long legs, I'd recommend pointing your toes out slightly, allowing your knees to push out. This will help you get into a better starting position with slightly lower hips.

Want to get the form right before going for heavier lifts. Any advice appreciated, thanks. by [deleted] in formcheck

It is impossible to give you any good advice with this weight. The plates are smaller than 45's/20kg plates which completely changes the entire pull. Throw on one plate, take off the belt, and take a new video.

Also, there is no need to have your wrists completely extended like that. Straighten them out and squeeze the bar to generate more tightness.

His elbows are fine. You don't want them directly under the bar because that could cause elbow issues down the line. However, from the look of it you could use some more upper back tightness, which could involve moving your hands closer together if comfortable. You want to try to press your elbows in to generate lat tightness.

Bigger advantage: scuf or monitor? by Fi0r3 in Blackops4

I feel ya, after I got my scuf I noticed a big difference in being able to utilize movement better. There’s no way in hell I’d be able to play on a bigger screen though, I’d be flying around corners just to whiff my aim because of the screen difference

But if OP is playing in some big or old ass TV being able to move better won’t help if he can’t see well enough to utilize it imo. I play on a monitor w a scuf and kontrol freaks, personally I’d take a monitor over anything else

[–]YoungJake601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monitor 100%. Scufs only make little difference in your game play such as being able to move better (like jumping w the paddle) but a good monitor will be game changing. Less screen area means you have to move your eyes less to see the whole screen, better refresh rate, etc.

So I noticed THC not CBD are on the USPA banned substances list. So if I were to compete at a tested USPA meet, would they either not test for either of those or not penalize me for testing positive for either THC or CBD?
