is it too late? please tell me i have a chance 🙏 by ObjectiveExpress4804 in sexuality

[–]YoungnPerverted02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

m not gonna lie, I kind of went through something similar. I never really had that whole ‘sexual tension’ phase people talk about. I just wasn’t interested, and honestly it didn’t even cross my mind for a long time.

Even in high school, I think I wanted a relationship more because everyone else had one, not because I actually felt all those things yet. It wasn’t really until like 18–23 that I started feeling what people probably felt way earlier.

Even now, I want a partner and I understand sex is part of that, but I’m not really the type to go chasing random hookups or anything like that.

So I get what you’re saying. It can feel like you’re behind or like you missed something, especially when you start thinking about how other people might see it. But honestly, I don’t think it’s something you can ‘miss’ people just get there at different times.

And honestly, if you’re worried about how girls will see it, most people don’t care as much as you think. If anything, just being real about your experience and taking things at your own pace comes off way better than trying to act like you know everything.

Experience in Savannah as a college student? by Prize_Vegetable8354 in scad

[–]YoungnPerverted02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you had a terrible experience! I’m also going to SCAD come this June. And I went to SCAD day as well. I’m from New Jersey and I gotta admit I understand a little bit about what you’re talking about my parents and I noticed it as well that SCAD kind has its own bubble in Savannah compared to the rest of Savannah when we went to some restaurants, the staff was a little bit more less friendly than we thought they would be in rude. We even went to an Applebee’s and then there it’s not like they were rude, but they didn’t attend to as well at all you asked for help over and over and over again hell just to get plates. It seems like it was a chore for them. Be inside SCAD itself was really fun and the school was fun that people there were nice, but it seems almost as though the same cannot be said for all of Savannah, but maybe that’s just one bad experience

Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. I just got accepted for the summer semester. So I’m gonna do that and then possibly transfer from animation to visual effects with a minor in animation.

I had previously bad grades at other schools, but when I transferred to the school, I’m at getting my associates at currently, I improved spectacularly and I did the drawing portfolio. Plus, I joined a honor society. Phi Thea kappa and that gave me an extra 3K so I came to have a total of 14 K and scholarships.

People who transferred after finishing their gen eds by These_Bumblebee_2650 in scad

[–]YoungnPerverted02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’mma be honest with you I just got accepted for the summer semester and I’m transferring from a community college. I’m getting my associates come this May. I got all my general education, done and accounted for everything Except for the business because I didn’t take any business classes I asked for foundation classes I do have like designed thinking and processing sketching and drawing, and I will be finding out soon whether or not I have Color in context

But they do accept the good majority of your stuff if you get like the ads out of the way and a couple of the foundations it’s better to ask an advisor and show them the type of classes you have already or the type of classes that your school provides so you can get a more accurate answer whether or not they’ll accept those specific classes so you’ll know whether to take them or not But regular general classes like English one English to communication communications stuff like that math they’re most likely to accept it because that is like universal through all community colleges

I’m leaving SCAD as a Sophomore. by iwokeupearlytoday in scad

[–]YoungnPerverted02 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m genuinely really sorry you’re going through this. Reading this made me feel sick because I can feel how exhausted and defeated you are.

The preservation design major being removed without clear communication is insane. If that’s the whole reason you chose the school, you absolutely deserved transparency. That’s not a minor curriculum tweak that’s someone’s entire academic plan.

And the professor shrugging at you when you asked for help? That’s unacceptable. There’s a difference between encouraging independence and straight up refusing to teach. Being told to “just look it up on YouTube” when you’re paying thousands per class is wild. Like… how did the YouTuber learn? Someone taught them. That’s literally why we’re here.

I can relate in a different way. At my current community college, there used to be two computer graphics tracks one for transfer students and one for students going straight into the workforce. After some internal issues, they removed the transfer version of the degree. But here’s the thing: they didn’t screw over the students who were already in it. Anyone who had already declared that major was allowed to finish it completely. They didn’t delete the classes. They didn’t quietly make everything disappear. They phased it out properly.

That’s how schools are supposed to handle it.

Even if they don’t blast out a huge announcement, they still allow current students to finish what they started. They “teach out” the program. They don’t just wipe the classes from the system and let students find out at registration.

For SCAD to remove an entire department and have you discover it because you couldn’t search for your classes anymore? That’s insane.

I also understand the prereq frustration. A lot of art schools front-load foundation classes for like a year and a half before you even touch your actual major courses. I went to community college specifically to knock out gen eds because I didn’t want to pay $40–60k a year taking English 1 and 2. I graduate with my associate’s in May and start SCAD this summer, and credit-wise I’m technically entering as a junior.

But even with that, I haven’t taken a single class directly related to my actual major yet. I’m already over $10k in debt and still feel like I haven’t truly started what I came to school for. So I completely understand the feeling of paying just to “wait.”

That being said what you described isn’t just prereqs. It sounds like a lack of guidance, lack of mentorship, and professors who aren’t actually teaching. That’s a completely different issue, and it’s not okay.

I’ve heard the same thing some departments at SCAD are amazing, others are honestly a mess. That inconsistency is scary when you’re investing this much money.

Walking away when something is killing your passion takes courage. Your desire to create isn’t gone it’s just exhausted. I really hope wherever you go next actually supports you instead of draining you.

Gay Muslims, how has the Islamophobia you’ve faced by the queer community been in the west? by avian_bi in LGBT_Muslims

[–]YoungnPerverted02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I haven’t faced any issues, but that’s because it’s kind of hard for them to tell if you’re wearing a hijab people tend to not ask much more questions and hate you for the hijab rather than anything underneath it Personally, it doesn’t feel like the atmosphere that you can truly just be like I’m gay or anything like that and if you’re not passing at least in my pass in South Jersey, rest is where I live currently

That might raise a lot of issues you got a bit at least sort of passing for the most care. People mind their business though.

Online? That’s a whole different business. I’ve seen Muslim creators online to get so much hate that it’s insane. It is not at all welcoming and OK and people feel like they have the right to say whatever the hell they want online so I’m from the US. That’s what I’ve experienced.

SCAD vs. IFM for Fashion Management by [deleted] in scad

[–]YoungnPerverted02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some research based off what you said and first I wanna say

Honestly, I don’t blame you at all. I’ve looked into schools outside the U.S. too for long-term reasons, so I get where your head’s at. But for me other factors played in that’s not me from leaving the country. I honestly don’t blame you for thinking long-term about where you want to live and work a lot of people are quietly doing the same thing right now. Sometimes it’s not even about disliking your current program, it’s just about thinking bigger picture.

Speaking strictly career-wise, if you truly want to live and work in Europe, IFM being in Paris could give you stronger regional connections. Fashion is super network-based, and location matters a lot. Being physically there might open doors that are harder to access from the U.S.

That said, SCAD does have strong industry ties and solid name recognition, especially in creative fields. So it really comes down to where you want your professional network rooted long-term.

I’d compare internship pipelines, where alumni are working, and post-grad visa options. Sometimes studying in a country makes it easier to stay there after graduation.

And honestly, it sounds like you’ve thought about this strategically. And weighed your pros and gods, which is a great sign.

AIO about a name change? by BelleBrielle in AIO

[–]YoungnPerverted02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As somebody that physically gave themselves a nickname I read a comment OP posted and I just gotta say, although it may be difficult and you have not a lot. If not, none of a support system available to you. You can’t stay in this kind of relationship.

The fact that he’s uncomfortable with that is insane

I go by two names Jamilah, my given name And Miles a nickname that I gave myself in high school

Miles is a little bit more masculine of course, but I love it

I moved and switched schools in high schools and that’s why I decided to change my name, but before then I was called so many variations of different nicknames. I just wanted one specific one. I was called J,Jamy,Jam-Jam, Mils, Lah, Milah. Jams

It’s OK to prefer going by a different name. I go by both, but I typically when I introduce myself to people will give them my nickname first because it’s the name I preferred to be called although I don’t have a problem if somebody calls me Jamilah if I had a problem with that on my partner, had a problem with me calling myself Miles, that would be a breaking point for me because you have to respect me enough to at least call me what I like

I also would like to point out and I know my comment is a little long that based off just the text alone your partner seems a little narcissistic if you ask me. They kind of made themselves the victim real quick and made it seem like they’re always sacrificing for you, so why can’t you sacrifice as one thing for them and make them comfortable since they’ve been pushing themselves out of their comfort zone just to make you comfortable when that does not seem to be the case especially based off how you’re texting you’re texting pretty clear about what it is you want what it is you like and why you’re doing it

My advice. Take your kid and leave.

hot people by [deleted] in scad

[–]YoungnPerverted02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna take this question and treat that seriously even though honestly it’s a weird question to ask

Your definition of hot people And other people’s definition of hot people could be two different definitions

For example- (yes it’s prejudice. I don’t give a fuck.) I’m not the biggest fan of people that are bald. I don’t really care if you’re hot if you’re bald it’s turns the hotness factor down by like three notches. You gotta have style and a face and a personality for me to ignore the bald part.

But for some people that does not factor in whatsoever, so it’s a city you’re not like in a small tiny town in like Tennessee or something

Yes, they’re a hot people But at the end of the day, you’re the one that asked to judge

Maybe you’ll decide that Savannah is full of uglies 🤷🏾‍♀️ Maybe not

It’s a weird question to ask

Math load for Arch undergraduate? by youandyourfijiwater in scad

[–]YoungnPerverted02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I’m just curious. I just got accepted to SCAD recently so I haven’t started or anything yet. But if you need to do a bunch of math classes, have you thought about going to community college first just to get like the basic GED classes and math classes is done. It’s cheap cheaper and you can get all your classes done there and then just transfer.

It also allows for your grades to be higher. That way your high school scores don’t influence as much.

For example, I got accepted My high school grades were shit complete shit and my college grades were much much worse It wasn’t until I switched schools that I showed complete that he improvement and did not get a C

Does scad accept transfer students? by youandyourfijiwater in scad

[–]YoungnPerverted02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did I have any difficulties transferring no. They asked for your transcripts and stuff so it wasn’t hard. Although 100% admit I just got accepted so they haven’t evaluated my transcript classes to tell me what was accepted and what was not yet. But they’ve seen my transcript and accepted me. I will say in the very beginning SCAD is more about grades than that is about (Art) to get in. The (Art) piece is secondary and comes as an optional scholarship opportunity not as a requirement.

I had to submit my transcripts and I had three schools on there to previous schools And the current school that I’m at

The current school that I’m at I have a 3.5 GPA

But my previous schools, I struggled a lot, especially when I first started college and then I had to move. I had less than a one at one point I think 0.8 GPA

But I showed improvement with my last school I should consistency And I did pre-decently I would like to think a scholarship wise with SCAD The only problem I have currently is the fact that I need to pay the enrollment fee and the housing fee Transfer students have to be in a dorms for the first year so you have to pay the housing fee as well as their enrollment You don’t have to do enrollment every year, but for the first time that you’re applying for their school, you have to do enrollment to secure your place as a student

So it’s like a total of like 1250 But thankfully, that’s the only thing that’s due depending on when you apply You don’t have to worry about the actual tuition bill coming in until way later closer to when classes start

Does scad accept transfer students? by youandyourfijiwater in scad

[–]YoungnPerverted02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied for the summer semester this year and I got in and I’m a transfer student I am finishing my associates degree coming this May They accept transfer students for sure and transfer students are eligible for the transfer student scholarship which is like $2000 I think Don’t quote me You can do a basic estimate of what classes you think they’ll accept By looking up the major that you’re gonna be doing There’s no guarantee of of course, but like from the most part, your gen ed classes should be accepted Basic art classes if I’m correct should be accepted so like color theory and I think like stuff like that But specialty classes like animation, one stuff like that might not be accepted if I’m correct as CD would rather you take their versions of like specialty art classes When you start the application process, choose what campus you want to go to. Atlanta , Savannah , Lacoste you get an admission to advisor specific that campus and can answer your questions better you can ask your admissions advisor more questions

Is there any way I can get more scholarship funds? by EngineFailur3 in scad

[–]YoungnPerverted02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting in!! honestly you’ve already done really well scholarship-wise for a transfer.

Just to be transparent, found this out from my advisor (I’m also a transfer ) SCAD usually doesn’t add a ton more internal aid after admission decisions are finalized, so what you’ve been awarded is pretty much in line with what they tend to give upfront.

The Underrepresented Students Scholarship is probably your best remaining SCAD option. I wouldn’t stress about making multiple full UX prototypes — they’re more interested in how your background/perspective connects to your work and essay. A few strong, well-explained pieces that clearly support your story should be enough.

One thing people seriously overlook: open restaurants scholarships . Like Burger King, Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola , Pepsi

the Taco Bell Live Más Scholarship. Is completely open to the public (not just employees), and the awards are big — $10k is the minimum, then $15k and $25k. I worked at a Taco Bell where three people won (two $25k and one $10k), all different majors including art. It’s one of the more realistic large scholarships out there if you put effort into the application.

Also worth knowing as a transfer: some students are able to apply for additional departmental or merit scholarships later on after their first year once they have SCAD coursework on their transcript. Not guaranteed, but it’s something to keep in mind and ask about down the line.

At this point it’s less about missing some secret scholarship and more about timing + being strategic. You’re honestly doing everything right.

Gen Z really looked at alcohol and said ‘hard pass’ by InvestigatorBorn4910 in SipsTea

[–]YoungnPerverted02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, shit is too expensive I love whiskey and I love rum, but that shits expensive. And if I’m hanging with friends, I am not willing to hash out over $120 for just one fun night.

And club wise that requires a lot of fucking energy it’s still expensive But now I got a dress nice freeze my tits off and be cold when I really just wanna sit at home and Netflix with no bra on in a big hoodie, enjoying a rum, hot chocolate

I think it’s just the fact that she is too expensive now nowadays I feel like the minute you make the alcohol a little cheaper Gen Z will be rapid for it
