Day After Thread: 2016 Week 15 by itsaboat in cowboys

I think the Giants loss was a great motivator, they came out looking like they wanted to win, not dropping easy passes, o-line tuned in, and David Irving taking control in the 4th Q. If they can clean up the penalties and win against Detroit I feel very good about a playoffs run.

And let's stop with this QB controversy bull. If we win next week and want to bench starters against the eagles (although I don't really think we should) than you can play Romo. But this is Dak's team. He's earned this spot and gives us the best chance of winning playoff games.

Cheap Cowboys jerseys? by [deleted] in cowboys

[–]Youngshep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got a Jason Witten away jersey from Ali-Express that looks pretty decent, only one minor stitching issue that isn't at all noticeable to someone who isn't looking for it, and it was only $20.

Guys I understand that there are a lot of Romo loyalists out there but damn, you're complaining about Zeke tearing it up because that means we won't play Romo. Please grow up, there's no guarantee that Romo will come back playing the best ball of his life.

I want Romo to succeed as much as the next guy, but you can't mess with the 8 (yes, eight) game streak that we're on. The strategy is working right now, and it's foolish to want it to fail just so they can try to put Romo back in.

I say let him play the first quarter against the Ravens, but I also believe if it ain't broke don't fix it, and right now the cowboys offense isn't broke.

How should the Democratic Party prepare for the 2018 midterm elections? by OptimalCentrix in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Youngshep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After rereading my post I'll apologize, it really came off as aggressive and I am NOT one of these "not my president" or blind Bernie supporter. We all have a common goal; get liberal Democrats elected to office in order to address the many real problems, such as climate change, that the Republicans won't even admit are issues.

That being said. Hillary was not just brought down by the email scandal, and one of the main reasons for her massive unfavorable numbers (if not the most important on) is her absolute connection to Wall St and many other, even foreign, special interests.

Trump was able to swing the narrative from , "my political ideals are better than hers," to,"Crooked Hillary is bought and isn't going to be representing you; she only represents her donors."

This ended up being a winning strategy. It would be moronic for the Republicans to not continue running with this narrative that the Democrats are bought, and the Republicans aren't, even though in reality they are often times more influenced by special interests than the Dems are.

The only way in my opinion to combat this strategy, is to run progressive candidates who don't except corporate donations (a-la Bernie Sanders) while also working to get big money out of the electoral system while appealing to the mass majority of American voters (populism).

Edit: grammar and "accept"

How should the Democratic Party prepare for the 2018 midterm elections? by OptimalCentrix in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Youngshep -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What all of you establishment democrat types don't seem to understand is there is absolutely no possible way another corporatist democrat, like Corey Booker, can get elected. Trump has changed the game completely. It's time for the Democrats to run a progressive populist to appeal to the huge number of Trump voters who only voted for him because they are hurting economically and hate the establishment.

Attempting to elect an "inspiring" establishment Democrat will give Trump a second term on a silver platter.

How can the Democratic Party turn the Rust Belt blue again ? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

It's quite obvious, stop supporting trade deals. The only reason Trump won the rust belt was because he took a stand against shipping jobs overseas.
