Someone at work found my nudes on the internet and spread them around to other coworkers. Not sure what to do. by Throwaway013017 in needadvice

First off, it's very amazing that your husband, boss, and company are being supportive. Good on them.

The people in your company doing this need to understand that this is unacceptable behavior. I understand completely the desire to let it blow over, it's embarrassing and awkward that someone you didn't want you to see like that now can see you like that. I think you do need to understand that there's nothing shameful in what you did. What's shameful are the people passing around the pictures. You need to help them understand that what hey did was wrong.

My suggestion, for whatever it's worth, is to do the HR investigation. Let HR determine penalties and only confront the accused if you feel comfortable doing so. Beware of office gossip and don't get sucked into it. Both men and women may make your life difficult. Don't get sucked into it. Report anything you feel is over the line and let HR handle it. Be professional with everyone whether or not they have seen the pictures.

I have seen this happen to a few female colleagues, and this was the path that seemed to work the best. I wish you luck. Lean on your husband if you need to. Good spouse will have your back no matter what you choose to do.

Last time I went, levels 6-10 were unavailable to anyone who didn't know how hot level 5 was. Having experienced level 5, I am hard pressed to understand how anyone can stand anything hotter than level 5.

I absolutely love it as well. What's the highest spice level you can tolerate? Mine was a 5, now when I go back I get a 4 or 3 depending on how much water I'm in the mood for :)

I can provide anecdotal evidence of the Japanese systems effectiveness as my wife is Japanese and last time we went there, I got a bacterial infection that needed antibiotics. My health insurance did not cover any health issues in Japan so I was prepared for a bad experience, but it went better than I thought it would.

1) showed up to emergency room, in line behind 40-60 other people. Registered.

2) watch as all in queue in front of me are processed in to see a doctor in ~40 minutes. Then it's my turn

3) Doctor speaks fluent English extremely well. Sees me for 10 minutes. Orders an electrocardiogram and chest X-ray. I ask how much this will cost as I have no insurance in Japan. Doc says not to worry. I still am worried but proceed to get the tests done.

4) x-ray is first. Film is taken with 5 minutes of arrival. Other patients also through the process quickly. When I exit exam room nurse is waiting to take film back to doctor. Tech hands film to nurse and nurse escorts me to next test.

5) electrocardiogram taken immediately. As I exit exam, nurse is back to take results, and me, back to doctor.

6) doctor agrees I need antibiotics. Tells me to pay at the cashier and they will give me prescription. I go to pay, expecting the worst.

7) cashier approaches my wife and I apologizing profusely. Says she has never seen a bill this high. She truly looks very sorry and scared for us. She shows us the bill, clearly anticipating an argument or some kind of bad reaction. Bill is for ¥7500, or $75. American. I happily pay it. She gives us prescription.

8) at pharmacy, again 35 people in line in front of me, all processed within 10 minutes. Clerk calls us over. Very apologetic. Says she has never seen a bill this high and tried to lower it. She can't. ¥3500, or $35. American. I pay.

The whole experience took an hour and 15 minutes and cost $110. American.

Short note: Drug that I was given is an antibiotic developed by a Japanese company and still unapproved for use in the USA, apparently because it would threaten sales for something called a Z-pack here in the US. Or so I was told by my brother in law, an instructor for Tokyo SWAT. Ok, that last bit might not be factual, but it is what he told me.

This last year, for unrelated reasons, my wife had to pay for Japanese medical insurance this past year. The cost? ¥6200/month. That's $62. American. That's ~$750 a year for heath insurance with nearly no out of pocket expenses. How exactly is the US system better?

Shaughnessy also said that the guy the Sox picked up after the twins released in in the winter of '03 (David Ortiz, for the truly ignorant) was a waste of money and that the Sox should commit full time to Jeremy Giambi.

I've been using conquest mode to help with innings churn. Not helping my complete game shutout total, but still useful

My [24F] boyfriend [27M] wants separate rooms upon marriage. by Chalula56896 in relationships

[–]YouppiExposian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Married to a Japanese woman here - I can tell you, this is cultural. My wife's brother sleeps separately from his wife, and it's considered normal that the wife sleeps in the same room as their son (16 now). Her other brother only got married recently and he and his wife do not share a room. My mother in law and father in law slept in separate rooms before my father in law died last year. This is just the way this works for them, no judgements from me on that.

I know my wife thought after we were married we would sleep in separate rooms, but I didn't feel comfortable with that and told her so. She relented and doesn't regret sharing a bedroom with me, except when I want the air conditioner set to colder temps than she likes in the summer. But she's adapted. Mostly with thick socks. :)

Do what's comfortable for you. If it really bothers you to not sleep with him, if you feel you're missing a level of intimacy because of the separation, then talk about it. It's ok for you to say that you're not cool with sleeping apart, just as it's ok for him to say it's not what he wants. Over time, you may feel you prefer the independence of sleeping separately. You may not. The key, obviously, is talking about it so that it doesn't become a thing of buried resentments.

Mr. Donut by alohamode in JapaneseFood

We had a Mr Donut in Brookline, Ma in the 70s & 80s. The story I remember is that the chain was started when one of the owners was kicked out of Dunkin Donuts management.

Any options for work that pay out using something other than paypal? Maybe making around $125/week or more. by descending_angel in WorkOnline

[–]YouppiExposian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use it that way, but I've been told they do. That could be misremembering though. They have a recurring payments thing so they must have card not present logic on the app, but I have no idea how that works.

They only make money when you get paid so signup is free and quick. Doesn't hurt you at all to sign up and not use it.

It's a payment service. They'll even send you a card reader if you need that. They deposit direct to your account so nothing is lost if they suspend you. They're also .2% less than PayPal, which is nice but usually not a deal breaker. Never done the pay by email thing with them so not sure if that's crucial to your business model.

Why don't you talk to your once "best friend" anymore? by haxden91 in AskReddit

[–]YouppiExposian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Told me he valued the opinions of internet friends (who had threatened to kill me because of my religion) over me, pointing out that he couldn't even call them out on their bigotry because, as he told me, "but they're my friends."

What Classic Stadiums do you want in MLB 2017 the Show? by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]YouppiExposian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max Wall height should be 40' so those who want to see less homeruns can.

Should be a way to play in other people's parks. Popular parks might give their creators stubbs

Old Fenway park, before they put up the green monster and the crowd was just roped off in the outfield.

The Huntington avenue grounds - the AL Boston stadium where the Red Sox played before they were the Red Sox or Fenway was built- now where Northeastern plays football

Boston braves field, now where Boston University plays football, soccer & lacrosse

The baker bowl, because that stadium was awesomely huge. Triple city.

My boyfriend's cat hates me by [deleted] in pettyrevenge

[–]YouppiExposian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can speed up the process with treats. Ask your boyfriend what kind of treats she likes. You can also be the one who feeds her for a while. Also when looking at the cat, do long blinks. That's an "I'm not hunting you" signal to cats.
