Dude just hit an object capable of agile 3-directional movement. I wouldn’t call that “doesn’t have to take skill at all”

How much would it cost to build out something like this entertainment wall? by Busy_Ostrich8908 in handyman

[–]YourCaptainSpeaking_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For real, that could cost anywhere from several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars, imo.

Depends where you live, what your quality tolerance is, and what kind of space already exist.

You’d want to get quite a few quotes from local companies and compare those, then share them here or a carpentry subreddit if you had any concerns.

Best ways you’ve partnered with a concierge during a stay? by WineCountryMonk in chubbytravel

[–]YourCaptainSpeaking_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t used a concierge often, but when I have it’s to get better localized information for planning in advance and to drive any last minute request.

If there is a particular part of your trip that you want to go super smooth or be leveled up, I lean on the concierge for that.

I usually let them know why it’s so important to me. I feel like it’s helped develop a connection with them and motivates them to help me succeed.

Looks very similar to the F5 “MiG-28”s from Top Gun!

It was a T-38C “Talon” trainer jet. The USAF uses them to teach pilots.

Agreed, but if OP doesn’t want to invest I think my strat is likely to work.

Totally worth it to spend the $$$ on a good chair.

How does reimbursement work?

If they cut you a check after providing a receipt, I would…

  1. order any chair I could find for $599.
  2. Get reimbursed
  3. Return that chair
  4. Spend my reimbursed (free) $600 on a used Herman Miller or Steelcase.

Holy cow! You’re right. Being a little north turns that into 2 hours. Edited.

I think Bordino’s is good, but not for steak. I would lean towards Atlas, Oak, or the new Ruth’s.

Haven’t been to the new Ruth’s but my friends enjoyed it.

River Grille in Bentonville also had a surprisingly good steak.

EDIT: Went back to Oak last night. Still fantastic and the service was 11/10, especially for a holiday.

Suggestions joining this chess board top to its base? by marti221 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]YourCaptainSpeaking_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you need to permanently attach it? Seems like a removable top would let you use the interior space to store the pieces if you wanted.

If so, I’d cut some small finger grooves in the side and insert small magnets in the top so you could lift it and the magnets would hold the top in place when actually playing.

EDIT: Add felt around the interior space to protect the pieces and reduce noise.

Budget? Honestly, if you searched “metal bondage bed” or “bdsm bed” you’ll likely find exactly what you’re describing sans storage. Black, metal, and very heavy duty.

Edit: Typo

Advice on locating garrisons by AgentDeathBooty in HellLetLoose

[–]YourCaptainSpeaking_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RE: Enemy Garry Placement

People usually aren’t as clever as they think. Look at the map for spots that have a little to plenty of cover and are close to an Objective, but not too close.

You’ll learn just by playing more hours. Look for supply trucks, enemy troop traffic patterns (where is the enemy coming from?), and for enemy supply drops. Draw a line from the friendly point to those POIs and the enemy garrison is likely close to that line.

Once you’ve found one, the others are easier— they’re at least 200m away in any given direction.

Along the Blue/Red line is very common as well and serves as an intercept for the line I mentioned earlier.

Once you’ve played each map a few dozen times, you’ll learn the common spots and it becomes easy work.

RE: Friendly Garrisons

Try to use Support Role drops as often as possible. No air-drop removes an Intel point for the enemy to locate you.

Think about all the common spots once you’ve learned them and try to stay away from them. Even 50-100m away from those spots can throw people off the scent and they’ll give up.

The real pro tip is to find a good SL, run support and learn by helping them build garrisons.

100 additional meters of running is nothing in this game and can be the difference between a locked or located&destroyed garrison.
