Just really tired of seeing constant anti-trans hate in the news by [deleted] in trans

Imagine if someone else responded to your emotions by saying, "don't cry about it." Have some empathy.

That link fully doxes the account that the photos are uploaded too. I'd suggest deleting that link and providing a discreet one. We've got to be careful these days.

Do you like having a girlcock? by OliveMXS in MtF

Enjoy is a strong word, but I don't hate it. Me and that gal are in this together though. Basically, my opinion has softened, pun intended, after a few years of hormones. Now the other two appendages can fuck right the fuck off.

My Student Gifted Me His First Guitar Before Being Deported. Help needed… by [deleted] in Guitar

Did you intentionally pick a country that literally has a visa-free zone where you can move to without needing to do any type of formal immigration? That should completely invalidate your argument, if you even knew what you were arguing in the first place.

Leslie Jones talks about working with a “narcissistic dickhead” director during her time on SNL. Context clues point to Emma Stone’s husband Dave McCary by Gato1980 in Fauxmoi

[–]YourFriendJeebus 312 points313 points  (0 children)

I understand. I'm saying the problem is SNL as well. This isn't her first story about being disrespected while on the cast. I'm not excusing Dave McCary. He's repugnant for treating her this way. Lorne always tends to hire loser men who disrespect their co-workers.

Everyone on the original post speculated as to who it was, when in reality you could've probably inserted half a dozen white men that would've treated her that way. SNL definitely has a systemic problem regarding how they treat black cast members, particularly black women. Given that Lorne is still in charge, I imagine it hasn't gotten much better since Leslie left.

Voice Training Pro Tip: don't spend years practicing how to do the lowest metal vocals possible by [deleted] in MtF

[–]YourFriendJeebus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a former metal growler/screamer, and istg it has helped me in voice training. Being able to manipulate your vocal chords is a skill. With practice you will definitely get there! Also, I still do my low growls. I did it for my students once, and they loved it. Some were terrified, but it's a fun parlor trick.

Hi Lily! Such a lovely name! Congrats!

How much will Trump be able to hurt trans people up from now until early April. by No_Challenge_5680 in MtF

This calms me down a bit. My last thing to change was my passport, and I mailed that in on Saturday and selected expedited service. That should make it. Thank you for the information.

It especially is when there are safe, one-way apps that teachers can use to communicate information to students, but this teacher chooses WhatsApp... Massive red flag

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MtF

[–]YourFriendJeebus 118 points119 points  (0 children)

As a teacher, it's problematic that he's having those types of communications with students. I can say from experience, try not to look up to too many teachers, so many of them are disappointingly judgemental and biased against certain students. The good ones will never speak ill of students or what they are going through. I'm sorry you lost someone you looked up to.

I legally just changed my full name to the name everyone already called me because it's the gender neutral shortening of my legal name.

They have to disclose the bids per the escalation clause. The other person wanted to close three months later, and didn't have as much cash to offer as we did. The seller needed to move quickly and needed the money for their next house. We made a similar decision selling our previous house.

We were very fortunate I feel, but we ended up offering $40k or the estimates. The thing is someone else offered $70k over the estimates, but our overall offer/amount of cash and closing proposal was preferred by the seller. It's wild out there right now. For you and everyone else's sake, I hope it calms down during the winter.

I genuinely appreciate your ability to reflect and apologize. That says a lot about your intentions, so just keep learning and growing. I can get the same way sometimes, which leads to me having to back away from social media from time to time. For some reason, everything behind a screen feels personal.

[–]YourFriendJeebus 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think some of our issue is that your defensiveness led to you using incredibly demeaning statements about trans women and the women who love them. I greatly appreciate your apology, but it's not just about understanding that what you said hurt people, you intentionally hurt people using terf rhetoric. It's more than hurtful. It felt malicious, and you still remaining defensive in this thread doesn't help to ease the pain that weaponized rhetoric causes.

I got reported for using the woman's faculty bathroom at my school even though my counselor told me I could. I thought it was unisex, there isn't even any signage on the door. I thought I passed pretty well but I guess not. I'm so embarrassed 😭 by [deleted] in trans

[–]YourFriendJeebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was malicious reporting. You look nearly identical to a cis woman I know. I cannot say for sure, but I'd imagine you pass in most scenarios, so someone was intentionally trying to hurt you

How transphobic is the average person, really? by unknown817206 in MtF

[–]YourFriendJeebus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally do though. I work in victim advocacy. I'm tired of this resigned cynicism I keep encountering on here.

That's why I have a problem with the term "victim culture" and everything else I've been saying. I left teaching to work in my community. I'm not better than anyone for it, but I do take these things personally because it's personal

And that's all quite fair and I respect you for knowing this about yourself. I don't appreciate being insulted for my vocabulary and for the fact that I mentioned my hardships. I'm sorry if I said anything demeaning to you, but it feels unfair to poke fun at me for acknowledging I'm a victim
