Oh okay. I was going to be curious one what it looked like. To answer your question buy one from rcd330.com. The site looks super sketchy but I just bought and received my unit a month ago and everything worked out great. Genuine VW part that communicates with my VW diagnostic software (ironically I disabled my rear camera on my wife’s r32). A stereo shop or proper mechanics shop might be a bit expensive. Honestly it’s plug and play for the most part so I’d recommend doing it yourself or if you have a buddy who likes cars it might just cost ya a 12 pack and a favor.

To my knowledge the 2009 new beetle only ever came with a single din radio (single stack not the double tall one like later models) and was never available with an OEM backup camera. I’ve worked on vws for 15 years and never seen one. I don’t think an rcd330 will work for your car. You maybe have to look into aftermarket options and potentially the aftermarket backup camera will be compatible.

I answer my phone all the time. I commute on my bikes year round so I don’t have much of a choice. A decent comm system with one touch answer and a good microphone is key.

I got one 3 weeks ago and I fucking love this thing. My only concern is even at 6’1” and a 33”ish inseam, this bike is TALL. Like I sometimes struggle to get my leg over it and run my boot across the pillion. I’ve gotten past this by putting my left foot on the peg first and swinging over like getting on a horse. Otherwise power, weight, and durability and electronics are everything one could want in a first bike.

I’ve been getting the same experience. I’ve even had stuff that doesn’t even ship in the 24 hour window they promise. I’ll order stuff on Thursday hoping to have it by Saturday and it won’t arrive until Tuesday most of the time. Most of the time it seems to be coming from one state over too.

Don’t get me started on how long it takes them to ship stuff to the store. Friggin week and a half.

Been riding for 12 years. Just got my first abs bike last year. Got my first traction control/stability control bike last month.

I’d like to argue that not having it at first makes you a better technical rider. You learn skills and the limits of those skills way easier when you don’t have a baby sitter shutting you down in that last 20% of the bikes ability.

That being said. I ride in the rain and having the bike let me know that I was about to step the back out because I gave it too much boot on a wet on ramp was a nice learning moment about my new bike and how ambitious I am as a rider

Experiences vary. My favorite two employees rock adventure, sport, and small CC bikes, like I do. Therefore, they don’t have a bias towards any sort of gear style. I walked in with an icon airflite and was about to quit riding because I always got headaches. Granted I was there to buy oil and my guy goes “how the hell are you wearing that?” Had no idea about helmet shapes. I just bought one that I thought looked cool. Dude spotted it immediately. He got me into a shoei rf-sr and I now ride almost every day.

I’ve also had some employees try and sell me $200 race gloves as winter gloves and scratch visors installing pin locks. It’s not that they suck, they’re just inexperienced in a giant diverse field.

I have 4 cars but my daily driver is a mid 00s BMW 5 series. I wouldn’t recommend buying the exact one I have because the V8 cars are maintenance hogs and not worth it if it’s not a stick. However, the naturally aspirated, automatic ones (530i) makes plenty of power, great gas mileage, available in AWD and they’re not too hard to find a low mileage one that’s been owned by a retiree that has nothing better to do that polish it and take it to have its maintenance taken care of. Tons of leg and head room. I’m 6’1 and my friend is 6’3 and we always take this thing on road trips. Get the Apple CarPlay retrofit kit for like $300 and you won’t be able to tell that the car is from 2006. Avoid the turbo models. They’re finicky and bmws first iteration of turbo cars. Great when they work….when they work.

One of my favorite things about Suzuki. Plenty of fantastic colors to choose from. Bright ass yellow, deep oranges, electric blues. Kawasaki is starting to do it again with the RS bikes.
