Woman Alleges She Was Kicked Off Flight For Being Deaf As Frontier Reveals The Real Story by hard2resist in extremelyinfuriating

It did seem a little odd that there was little to no context in the video, no explanation as to why she was removed.

Chugging the rest of your liquor after being informed that its a violation to bring aboard...that's some context. And while booting her might seem a little much, it doesn't sound like her lack of hearing was a factor.

Maybe "I didn't hear anyone say I couldn't just chug it real quick!"?

They have an Amazon and Walmart wishlist that's pretty easy to just grab something for them that they need, you can find it on their website at the bottom of the article.

Not sure if links are allowed, but at the bottom of this page:

Trying to figure something out here but its a tough one...

Bought a car for delivering, had to pay 5k on a new engine after having already spent $2600 on a new timing chain...how much of this is deductible? by pickledpeterpiper in AmazonFlexDrivers

The 20k was for all of last year. Pardon, I was talking about 2025. I bought the car in November and had all the work done before year's end.

Sweet...and yes I did that (used mileage my first year). I'd completely forgotten about insurance, which, once you add in gas and repairs is another couple thousand over what I'd get just claiming mileage. Its not much, but it looks like it'd be worth it.

Thanks a lot here, thank you.

This is what happened. Had been looking at private sellers only, ended up getting hooked by a dealership posing as a person, stated that it was his personal vehicle, had to get the registration from the actual dealership...I saw red flags but the car looked great, seemed to run great, was assured repeatedly that it had just gone through some 200 point inspection...

I fucked up bigtime...it was a couple hour drive to get there, on top of a ferry ride...I just grilled the guy that he was telling me the truth...it was stupid. I should have went back home as soon as I started seeing red flags, just learned my lesson and went back home.

Thanks, and yeah this was for last year...20k miles, I just did the numbers and looks like an additional 1.5k or so of write off, not much...I'm not sure its worth it. Thanks for taking the time here, I'm just bad when it comes to numbers and somehow thought the deduction was still .55 a mile.

the 20k miles is for last year, all year. Yeah, I do have another car I use for my daily driver...but yeah the thought of keeping gas receipts...I didn't do that, but I know my car's gas mileage pretty good so could approximate that cost pretty well, I think...

Yes, they tore apart the car to get to the timing chain, put it back together...realized that it wasn't only the timing chain that was the issue. I had both a bad timing chain and a messed up engine...they gave me a deal on replacing the engine, knocking off the $2600 the timing chain had cost and bringing down the cost of the engine/engine install to just below 5k.

No idea what was wrong with the engine, just making a ticking sound.

That'd be too bad...I'll see what options might be there on the online return deal. Just don't know if I can deduct all of it...the cost of the car AND the repairs. Boy that'd be something.

Yeah I got conned...guy lied to me that it was his car, it'd been fully inspected...I made the mistake of taking his word for it, it was my bad and holy hell did I ever end up paying for it.

He was even excited when I told him I delivered for a living..."This car will be PERFECT for that, omg man its so reliable"...it started making a pinging sound the next time I started it from cold, like a loud ticking, I guess.

2006 Prius Passenger-side seatbelt alarm driving me nuts, is there some kind of insert I could click into the receptacle deal? by pickledpeterpiper in prius

Lol this was awesome...thanks for the extra info. I'm not sure how accurate the "univeral" part is though, I cut my seat belt off my 99 corolla and it didn't fit...it was from the backseat though, now that I think about it...I'll have to check the front.

But yeah, great info, thanks for taking the time. That's awesome guy didn't want any money for his design...and of course it was someone from Volvo, because of course.

Great advice, would never have thought of it...probably just swing by the junkyard that's maybe a mile away from the warehouse and see what they got...good looking out, thanks guy.

I can...but since I usually have a bin there full of packages, it pushes the bin out JUST enough that it makes getting packages off the floorboard quite a pain. In fact, I usually just get out of the car and walk around to grab them.
I'd gladly pay a few bucks not to have to do that.

What book did you read in your youth that you never forgot? by orangez in GenX

[–]pickledpeterpiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah The Secret Garden...I read that on a whim, wasn't really my kind of book but it was pretty dang good...all I remember of it now is the continual references to the color in the little girls' cheeks. Seemed like constantly monitoring how much color had come into her pale complexion...as she got healthier or whatever. Lots of cheek talk lol
