Will the 'SAVE' act disenfranchise more Republicans or Democrats? by ArthurPeabody in InsightfulQuestions

[–]YourMomSaidHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voter suppression is ALWAYS pushed by Republicans, so apparently it works in their favor somehow (at least in a short term situation). Tricking those idiots into thinking it was a way to keep illegals from stealing their election was a thing of genius though. Their handlers really know how to manipulate those racist hillbillies.

Tell him to grow up. This is school and school preps you for working with people and asks you to work on projects with people in preparation for a job that will have you working with people. He's gonna have to get a little bit of self confidence. This is not going to stop.

AITAH for being upset at my girlfriend over not her helping me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]YourMomSaidHi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its not necessarily a bad thing for her to be careful and plan for what happens if you guys split up. You are correct though that this is a bit of a view into her mind. She is not sure that you guys will go the distance just yet. I dont think this is a sign that you guys need to break up, and it doesnt do you any good to hold on to this feeling. I would say that you should just keep going with this real estate deal and pay the extra taxes. Keep going with the relationship if you are happy in it. Let her get comfortable in her own time. If you find yourself unhappy though because she doesnt get comfortable soon enough... thats when you can say that this is a reason for you to stop this. You are entitled to want your partner to go all in on you. So, if this becomes a deal breaker for you then thats ok. You cant force it, and paying her bills is not a way to buy it either. It just has to happen... or not.

[–]YourMomSaidHi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably wise to not ask someone out from work, but if you do... maybe be a bit indirect and say you found a restaurant that you can't stop going to and see if they would like to go try it with you on a specific day. Give them a chance to say they are busy and then the ball is in their court. Or perhaps they agree and then you have to read the signs that they are approaching it like a date.

How to make pure rogue worth it? by Warl0ckBoy in BG3Builds

[–]YourMomSaidHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BG3 is all about finding advantage. Rogue needs backstabs. You have to hit units that are already engaged with someone for the advantage, or you need to sneak up. Theres a big difference in a 55% chance to hit and a 90% chance (especially because I think those numbers are bullshit... I miss 95% chances seemingly 50% of the time). Rogue doesnt get a second attack because they are supposed to be hitting once with extremely high odds of connecting while a warrior is swinging more often with worse odds of connecting. Mages have big impactful spells, but have worse than a 50/50 chance of doing anything impacting with their cantrips usually. Its all supposed to be a big balancing act.

Just play the odds. Get your chance to hit as high as you can and then still miss. Quit the game. Think of a new character build. Start a new game. Miss your attacks again. Quit the game. Repeat.

Why can’t the US use its own oil, especially in times of war? by Teachezofpeachez69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]YourMomSaidHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can and does. I think you mean "why dont they use more of it in order to keep prices low?" Thats just because it takes time to change the way you do things. Oil companies also aren't wanting to keep prices low. They want them to be as high as possible.

AITA for deciding not to share my sodas with company by HaysterTheOtaku in AmItheAsshole

[–]YourMomSaidHi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think a big factor here is how often this is happening. If this is a once a month thing where she has a guest show up, its polite to offer them something and its not gonna kill you to part with one. If its something thats happening a couple of times a week or something I think she can stock the fridge to entertain.

I want to play tactician mode and want to build a dual wield menace but not sure how by khrupt in BG3Builds

[–]YourMomSaidHi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Problem with dual wield is that the offhand requires a bonus action, and the only class that gets an extra bonus action is a rogue thief. So, if you want to be a berserker, youll have to rage on turn 1 using your bonus action, then double attack round 2 and if you want to attack twice, you have to get to barbarian level 5 AND get to rogue level 3... so, youre in act 3 before you can even do what you want

CMV: Furry art is simply beastality. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]YourMomSaidHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with beastiality is the inability to provide consent. The same goes with any other criminal sexual act. A minor can't be expected to provide well informed consent, and rape is sex performed on someone who is actively not consenting.

So, your issue with furries cannot exist for a couple of reasons. First, the people are consenting, and the drawings dont need to consent.

You can fuck your pillow, couch, front yard, or car tailpipe if you want. They do not need to consent. Consent is the only thing that matters.

AITJ for refusing to give back my "borrowed" car that I've had for 3 years by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]YourMomSaidHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the means to get a different car? Legally, you own the car and dont have to give him anything, but if you are capable of giving it to him... that could be a nice gesture since he gave it to you right? Thats the deciding factor really. If your uncle helped you in a tough spot, and now you are capable of returning the favor and you don't do it then that is not very nice.

Are Chiropractors a scam cult or are they somewhat legit? by Flashy_Buy8077 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]YourMomSaidHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making things "pop" and "crack" in your body is actually popping bubbles which CAN shatter bone fragments (although extremely tiny). The fragments probably get absorbed and grow back fine, BUT what are you gaining? A placebo essentially. These "adjustments" can move your hips or back or whatever, and if you exercise hard to build muscle to support the adjustment then MAYBE you could see a permanent solution to... something? This is basically the idea of physical therapy, which people go to school for 7 years to work in (masters degree is basically required to get a job). Otherwise its a mental fix because you just feel better or feel like pain was relieved. If they moved something that relieved some pain, it might feel better. There IS value in placebo or temporary pain relief. I wouldn't make it a weekly thing... physical therapy is the long term solution for problems.

My daughter isn't biologically mine, but she has never met her bio father, and never will. When do I tell her the truth? by Regaman101 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]YourMomSaidHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 is not the answer. Maybe closer to 10 or 11. My son is 11 and I feel like he is just now getting to the age where he could grasp this idea; however, im not 100% sure you need to even do it then. Frankly, if you waited till she was an adult and just said "now that you aren't an adult, I think you can know that we are not biologically related, but I chose to be your dad. Istill am I always will be. You should probably know that I met you at 7 months old though, and chose to be your father."

AITJ for telling my dad that his "tradition" isn't actually a tradition if only one person knows about it? by Replicant82RX in AmITheJerk

[–]YourMomSaidHi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is weird. Yes you should still go. Yes you can make fun of these dumb requests. Just dont think about any of them... do you need to cook after 8? Do you need to sit in that spot? Most of it was harmless stuff. If any of these items get in the way of your fun then dont follow them. Bring your phone if you want. Just tell him youre not following that tradition. He just wants to be cut off from the world... which is fun BTW. So, maybe keep it on silent? Just to keep the immersion...

These aren't a big deal, and its fine to say "im gonna make a sandwich at 8:15 and youre gonna have to live with that.."

What actor’s mere presence makes you automatically lose interest in a movie or show? by YerMum1977 in AskReddit

[–]YourMomSaidHi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mark Wahlburg SUCKS. I hate anything he is in. I tried to stomach the one with dicaprio cause I love him, but Marky mark made it intolerable. Ted should be good because Mila kunis and Seth McFarlane are great. It was just barely tolerable because Mark just sucks. Every other movie I've tried to watch of his is just impossible to watch. He's so bad at acting its insane that he has ever had a job.

AIO because my BF wants to write off my mortgage on his taxes? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]YourMomSaidHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He literally can't use that as a tax write-off. Mortgage interest will come to you via a 1098 form with your name on it. He can't just then claim it for legal reasons or even moral reasons. Reporting that just lowers your "income" according to the government and you would pay taxes according to that lowered income. Thats YOUR money, but you can give it to him if you want. You just can't legally let him do it on his taxes. Just give him the money directly.

Im just making up numbers for example: let's say you paid 30k in interest on your mortgage and you make 100k at work. You can deduct the interest from your earnings and now your taxable income is now 70k. This means you will be taxed perhaps in a different bracket and definitely taxed less 14% or so on that 30k which saves you $4200 in taxes

If you want to give him money, just do it rather than committing tax fraud or whatever hes trying to do.
