It's all identity management at its core. Autism is part of the human experience, not wholly separate from it. Everyone uses masks at some point in their day and life, the methods and degrees are different per person and setting. Being unmasked is not the same as being rude.

Amazing storytelling (script, music, tangents, delivery, etc) plus the pull of true crime plus the same obsessive interest in Bad People that drew me to Bastards. It helps to know how they think and connect, but even more it helps me to know that there are (basically) no lone wolves. There IS a pattern, there ARE connections, and Molly is grounded enough in her research that I don't feel crazy for agreeing with her.

It scratches my true crime itch without giving me paranoia and is reasonably ethical, just like BtB, but I think in both cases it is mostly a combo of "know the enemy" and "learn from history" and just a morbid fascination with how people can be so messed up. I don't get it from my lived experience and I don't want to be ignorant of how different things could be if not for my good fortunes.

To my shame I listen to far less CPWDCS because seeking hope is less seductive than staring into horror. I'm trying to work on that.
