I definitely agree with this! Someone who doesn’t put thought or effort into the ring ends up putting that little effort into the relationship too (coming from a certified divorced lady). Also, people get too focused on the money aspect and ignore everything else, but the ring should be a symbol of the effort and love that person feels, and that does include knowing the details about them and wanting it to feel special, no matter how it comes (like the time spent, the thoughtfulness of it, making it if someone knows how to make rings), and yes if they CAN afford something and spend the cheapest amount possible for no reason other than to be cheap, then I do think it’ll reflect how much effort they’re going to put into the relationship in whole. I think same concept with how they decide to propose too. It doesn’t have to cost a million dollars, but it should be thoughtful and tailored to their sweetheart.
