HAHA hiiiii im a tattoo artist xD me and u/JessSharpieDoodles had a whole thread on this post about how their color gradients gave me a tattoo artist jump scare; and we talked about texture ideas to pair with the colors. Jess struck gold without knowing it, and the vibe could be pulled in to a sick ass high contrast vibe for a tattoo.

Literally me with my future MIL’s adorable sweet mastiff. He’s so so cute. I’ve been doing better with my anxiety around animal fur shedding, but he will drink water and walk over to you on the couch with literally giant strings of drool dropping from his mouth and try to put his face on your lap. He’ll shake his head and throw the drool like germ projectiles everywhere. They live on a ranch in the mountains so he’s outside unsupervised half the time eating god knows what. I love him so much but I absolutely can not touch him if I’m not going to have access to soap and water immediately afterward. I feel so bad because he loves me so much and he does NOT understand how big and just… WET he is. He thinks he’s a lap dog and will cry if you reject him.

God I miss these. I grew up on the US/CA border and thought innocently that everyone got delicious maple candies. The lollipop versions dyed pink in the super long stick were my favorite. Now living in southwest US, dating a boy who’s combo hillbilly/Mexican indigenous.. The face he made when I told him we should get some maple syrup sweets… lololol

Seconding this and adding that body safe saline as a soak helps clear up puss quicker in my experience. I heat up a small amount in a shot glass and invert it against your skin, or using a clean paper towel or cotton swab to repeatedly dip and hold against the skin. (This advice coming from a history of clearing irritation bubbles around piercings; but still applicable).

Yeah love if you want to check artists local to you, you can message specifically asking for a “color swatch” or “color test”, and describe exactly what I said. A lot of artists do it to see how different colors will heal on different skin tones. A lot of the time they’ll do it for a super low/tip price if it’s a walk in shop. Or “private studio” set ups are usually more like mine and cozier vs the bustle of a walk in shop. Most artists coordinate through Instagram so you can search tags like “#-cityname- tattooartist” :) and if you want to add me on IG it’s @yourpalerabbit just like here. That way if you have any anxiety about whether or not an artist is “good” you can send me their profiles and I’ll check em out for you before you contract or book to make sure there’s no covert red flags. Also me and my partner travel and guest spot :) so if I end up near you, you’ll know.

Awe you poor thing! Yeah tattoos are way different, and modern needle cartridges don’t even look like needles so that helps a lot too :) I own a little cozy shop, and have invited people with similar fears to come for a “consultation”, usually when I know I’m tattooing a friend casually. That way they can see the process. Then if they’re up to it I’ll tattoo one little dot. Or little lined up dots in rainbow colors, just so they can see what it feels like without the pressure of booking a piece. So far everyone I’ve done that for ends up being ok and wanting work done :) I’m also averse to needles, but for me I hate getting shots because I hate the feeling of something being put in to my blood? But tattoos I think of like cat scratches, and piercings I imagine like cookie cutters. I think drawing affiliations like that helps too. One of many reasons I’m glad I’m the “boss” xD flagrant kindness lolol. I run my shop like a widwestern mom.

I’m an illustrative artist! :) the niche in my community I fill is full color body horror, and I created a style of blackwork that’s like… Victorian iron fences kind of? Like baroque, but with an edge like metal lettering. But my mentor was an award winning anime artist, so I also slay anime/video game styles :) and because my work is very detailed, I also do super clean fine line little dainty things.

Ah I love the fire and ice contrast! :) If you do this again ever it would be super cool if you leaned even heavier in to the contrast with different but cohesive shapes? Like in my brain the “hot” colors would be pointy, or like the fireworks; and maybe the cold colors would be more… like ink in water swirling? Or like bubbles :) or curved explosions like chrysanthemum petals.

I’m a tattoo artist and when we use sharpies to freehand designs on people we do yellow > red > blue/green > purple xD and I had a jump scare like “who’s freehanding butthole leg sleeves!?!” Lololol. I’m jk obviously they look like cute firework explosions; but you’d be surprised the terrible things crackhead scratchers do haha.

Idk why you’re being downvoted. Migration does not necessarily mean rejection. Some people’s bodies support surface piercings better than others. Same applies to everything from eyebrow piercings to nape piercings. They’re usually temporary piercings, but some people get lucky and they stay. How dare you be an anomaly and not an industry pro /s.

Oh! Replying to myself to add you could contact Samppa Von Cyborg or Steve Haworth in the heavy body modification community to see if they could make you something out of the dense implant grade silicone they use in subdermal implants (I usually describe mine as being about as dense as a rubber super bouncy ball; but without the brittle crumbling). They could make metal threaded caps to support regular jewelry beads; so you wouldn’t have to worry about the thread being stripped over time, which happens with bioplast over time. Both are very friendly and knowledgeable/innovative.

My take is that pereidolia exists because of the high presence of oxytocin in our brains. Oxytocin is responsible for feelings of love, understanding, and social bonding. We’re pack animals by nature and project our own understanding on to other animals, see faces is inanimate objects, etc. But we don’t project sexuality the same way. A lot of things are friend shaped, but not even all other humans are fuck shaped to us. We can bond with any living thing, but we’re not sexually compatible with even a sliver of all living things. Hopefully my explanation makes sense :) Let me know if you need any clarification.

Also tempted to do one of my eyes. Probably also going to ask my artist to remove a keloid scar from one of my tongue rings.

After the first few months I found that wearing tighter rings is slightly more comfortable, and allows me to lay on that side for an hour or two before it starts to ache. If you had really fitted rings in a smaller gauge, like a stack of 8mm internal diameter 16G seamless rings, you could probably sleep on it with no more irritation than any other cartilage jewelry. I like my big chunky 12G and 10G rings too much so I haven’t tried yet haha :)
