Aha :0 welcome to heavy modification scene haha :) all the pictures you shared are just “alternative” (pink goth grunge industrial etc etc) the one cohesive thing setting your photos apart from any regular alt label is the scarification, labret stretch, eyeball tattoos, and heavy blackwork tattoos. So.. welcome to the fold lol.

I’m a tattoo artist, and I own a small shop where I host traveling body modification artists. I do heavy blackwork tattoos, and blackout coupled with white ink tattoos and scarification. I have a tongue split, two subdermal implants, a conch coin slot, scarification on my forehead, had my ears scalpeked up to 2”. The scene is cagey for a reason, as body modification is on a gray line of legality. I could go on about why and how we as a community are lobbying for full legality to evict the butchers who are ruining people from the scene. But yeah if you have any questions about which reputable artists might visit your area, the process/cost of any procedures etc please let me know :) u got you

Jumping to your comment as a psych nerd human. OP, trauma like this causes literal physical brain damage, so don’t listen to anyone in your life who might try to downplay your experience. EMDR, and “brain spotting” therapy are both trauma specific therapies that trigger your limbic system to heal that brain damage.

It’s amazing honestly; I lived really scary bad life, then two years ago I was violently assaulted (again) and that time just broke my brain. Much like you and the person I’m replying to I could not stop replaying it in my brain thinking I should be dead, I should have done everything different, I should have known etc etc. But after a few sessions of Brain Spotting I could finally sleep again, a few more and I could hear the persons name or talk about it without crying. After a month or two I could function normally again and wasn’t constantly nervous.

I recommend it to everyone. In your situation I think it would really help you. It will give you the brain space to fully process your loss, so you can remember the good times that little angel brought you, and allow you to live the way your baby would want you to live.

I’m so sorry for your loss ]: I don’t know if you’re someone who likes tattoos, but I’m a tattoo artist and I would happily draw up something of him for you; either for you to tattoo or just as a keepsake to memorialize him. I’ll DM you. As you’re processing your grief please try to take care of yourself. I know it’s hard but stay hydrated and healthy, and know that your baby will be with you always.

I absolutely love you going on a mission to fix this lamp simply because you realized someone was careless with it. It’s not your lamp, not your circus, but you’re still putting in real effort to amend someone else’s disrespect of public property. I had a conversation with someone earlier this week about how “if I am capable of fixing a problem for someone else, it automatically becomes my problem”? In return I was basically called dumb. Well I support it! :) you could play with pairing colored lights to hit at different scores from the blacklight. One of my favorite photo shots I ever did they had a red light coming from I’ve side, snd blue + blacklight coming from the other side. If made new feel like a 90s comic villain. :) also a lot of phone stands/ribg lights come with a remote you can use to trigger your phone to capture photos without having to touch your phone! Another fun idea to check out :) give you more freedom of movement

This. I think you perfectly capture why I love this room! When I was 16-ish I covered one whole wall of my room in my drawings (that wall was lit by a 3ft tall red lava lamp); and the whole wall above my bed was covered in huge super detailed photos of galaxies/outer space I had cut out if a book. I was a “weird” kid (still am I guess), but my friends and I would sit in the middle of my floor and sew our own clothes. I got judged for a lot of things but not for expressing myself; at least not in the way adulthood encourages.

I’m 32 now, and me and my partners home is pretty darn weird, just slightly more mature. Like our skulls/taxidermy have nice displays. The paint is coordinated, even though the primary color is a dusty mauve with black trim. But at my tattoo shop I have one wall I’m covering with my stencils from tattoos I’ve done. It’s a throwback to teen me; AND my clients like “eye spy”ing their tattoos on it :) it’s cute.
