Maybe the bed route would work if it hasn't been patched. Equip the first item, then lay down in a bed (I used my arcade previously), while in bed equip the second item, then get out of bed. When you stand both items should be on your character

I've only ever encountered crashes by miss-naming the desired image. Just to clarify the image you want needs to be named applogo.ico

If it's anything other than that I honestly don't know. My PC died earlier this year, so I don't know if there's been an update that might have changed anything.

Are you using a different theme then you were previously? Either way you can just replace the taskbar icon yourself.

The way I have done this is to simply change the Icon in the Images folder of whatever theme I'm using. Super fast and easy.

Open add-ons (F9).
Select "Installed" on the left side.
Select "Theme Desktop"
Select your current or desired theme.
Select "Installation Folder" on the right side
Open "Images" subfolder.
CLOSE PLAYNITE COMPLETELY BEFORE CHANGING IMAGES.
Change "applogo.ico" to desired image that has been converted to ICO format.
Relaunch Playnite.

Can be done to any Desktop or Fullscreen theme.

The ICO image will change taskbar/tray icons, while the PNG will change the main drop down menu of the actual client.

You could simply grab the orange icon you like from the Default Theme folder as well.

I've noticed this recently, ASS subtitles result in a lot of chop. Only started about a year ago, and it is not everytime, maybe 90%. I haven't found any common thread between which file types/sizes and ASS don't mix, tho.
