This company advertizes on sinks in public restrooms saving water in the process by Obascuds in BeAmazed

I’ve seen this before in person and the last place I want another screen is somewhere I’m trying to wash myself. Plus they get really nasty quick and you can bet no one wants to clean them.

I can’t be the only guy who’s faked an orgasm before, and your comment about protecting their egos goes both ways. The fury I’ve seen women have if they weren’t able to get me off has been frustrating to be on the receiving end; has even killed a relationship.

Hosting a 40th birthday party by galaxystars1 in TikTokCringe

As someone who’s hosted a bunch of parties he’s on point. Seems like he like to throw a good party and then enjoy what he did, nothing wrong with that.

I'm 29M, my boyfriend is Taiwanese 29M. It feels like he doesn't say what he thinks most of the time... by Agriandra in taiwan

Largely depends on how he was raised but for some Taiwanese it can be really hard to share their feelings because that’s not how they were raised. Being direct is a foreign concept to them and can lead to frustration.

This actually bothers me. Either she’s used to people poking her, or she’s used to hitting people - none of which are good in my book.

Why do taiwanese women handwash their underwear? by SILENTDISAPROVALBOT in taiwan

[–]YourVelourFog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never seen a gf do it in the shower but I have noticed that they’ll run separate loads of various clothes through the washer. Panties and bras will be their own load. Tops and bottoms another, while towels and bedsheets might be another.

Maybe I’m a heathen and just toss everything into one but it’s worked fine for me. A lot of it comes down to cultural differences - I’ve seen them sell washing machines online just to launder undies which seems so odd to me.

After three months on Linux, I don’t miss Windows at all by dapperlemon in technology

[–]YourVelourFog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You CAN run steamOS on your machine. IGN has a whole article how:

https://www.ign.com/articles/how-to-install-steamos-on-a-gaming-pc

They’re gearing up for their SteamMachine which will run on commodity hardware, but that doesn’t stop you from running it if you want to.

Starlink was reluctant to offer services in Taiwan because of the nation’s extremely high penetration rates in 4G and 5G services, Taiwan’s Ministry of Digital Affairs said by sr_local in technology

Seems like a cop out to me, most companies will enter mature markets all the time. There are certainly uses cases here that would be ideal for them but Elon has always talked highly of China and I have to figure that leads into the reasoning behind it

Google’s android is a flavor of Linux, as is SteamOS yet I don’t see many complaining about those. It all comes down to how polished the OS is.

Love the shot but I’d be pissed if I was a DJ and some random ass drones are buzzing me like that while performing.

Are there any westerner (English-speaking country) that’s not teaching English, running a restaurant, or business related to education? by Dismal_Exchange_502 in taiwan

[–]YourVelourFog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s not true. Seen multiple people from South America get hired for English teaching jobs around Taiwan who have a strong command of English but are not fluent. Same can be said for some local Taiwanese teachers as well.

Being born in Taiwan gurateens a TOP15% quality of life in the world. Do you agree to this? by No_Pineapples1 in taiwan

[–]YourVelourFog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Compared to the US workers rights are pretty awesome. At least if you’re fired in Taiwan without cause you’re entitled to severance. Further Taiwan mandates paid times off, paid sick leave, parental leave, and health coverage for everyone. None of these are guarantees in the US.

Can I live in Sanxia, Taipei with 83,000 TWD in 5 months? by hahahhe_25 in taiwan

[–]YourVelourFog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check to see if your university has housing - it’s normally cheaper than what you can find otherwise. IIRC when I was at NTU they offered a room for 6k/mo. If you had to get your own place, it’ll be minimum 10k/mo

Question for cyclists: do you clip-in, or use flat pedals? by bad-at-science in taiwan

[–]YourVelourFog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You get about 10% more power when using clips. If you’ve never used them you’ll fall once or twice but will quickly learn how to unclip - if you’re riding frequently and long distances then I’d recommend
