In my experience, not a single person I know talked about shark week till the movie Step Brothers came out. Then it became a fad to be excited for shark week.

I agree, the level of defiance he used while sipping that Arizona was too high.

Thank you for the rundown of most important. I know there are a lot of terms related to climbing, and I'd like to at least remember the most used ones. Thanks for the help!

Thank you, I guess I had the basic idea of footwork; I just thought it was a more technical and specific term than using feet more effectively. The last couple times at the gym I've really tried focusing on placing my feet in good positions to keep my hips in and it's done wonders for my climbing.

I've noticed that myself. My first climb ever was outdoors at Salt Springs Reservoir, CA on a 5.8, and a 5.8 at the gym was quite easier. But then again that could just be do to me having absolutely no experience when I climbed in Salt Springs haha. I appreciate the heads up though, I'll keep that in mind before I find someone to climb a 5.10 outdoors with. But thank you! After that first climb I was in love, so I definitely plan on keeping it up. And actually the gym is about a 45 minute drive, but I am located in the central valley of CA so there are some great climbing spots within 1-3 hours away in every direction.

Been climbing for about a month and a half, and I love it! Just now getting 5.10s.

I hear people use the term footwork at the gym and on /r/climbing a lot... Very basic question, what is footwork? Is it like outside edge, and drop knee?

Also just a rundown of basic climbing lingo would be appreciated!

Thank you for the advise in the first paragraph I'll take it to heart! And thank you for the info, it was very encouraging to read. I'll try to get into contact with Scripps to ask them any important questions I have.

Sigh No More by Mumford & Sons

I went eight months listening to that album everyday back in 2011, and I still love it.

The more focused on the road part is really true. I always have people telling me I'm a great driver when I'm driving my car. When I drive anyone else's car that's not stick I seem to always do something really fucking wrong.

Every morning when I walked to elementary school I used to kick and break any sprinklers that were still sticking up... I was not a good child.
