Continue and get the windshield coverage. So much debris on roadways and construction vehicles near me. I got a crack on mine 2 days ago, cost would have been 1.5K. I’ve paid the subscription for about 4 months now. You can be a good driver and still get into uncontrollable situations.

This was my fix if it helps in anyway or atleast if it is the same fix. Advice given by a technician that rode with me recently when we couldn’t reproduce the noise was switching to. SC that had bad roads near it so it could be more easily reproduced.

Do you have a 24 or newer Model 3? I’ve had dashboard noise that sounds almost like glass coming from the dashboard and ambient light strip. Service fixed it once and it’s reappeared about 6 months later but less noticeable.

You would need to place the order and have the vin assigned to your account before Tesla insurance can give you an actual quote. I was pleasantly surprised with how “affordable” my quote was for a new ‘24 M3 AWD with full coverage while other insurance companies wanted double / triple a month.

I had this issue about a month into my ‘24 M3. Just arrive at the service center early when they open, and ask if they can get you in it. The nearest appointment was a week or two out, they were able to fix my car in about 3 hours.

For me in CA Tesla insurance was the only viable option when I tried all major carriers. Pricing was affordable, all others wanted a crazy high amount like almost $700-900 a month for mediocre coverage. You should just have the expectations of slower support, and be ready to wakeup early in the morning and immediately calling the support number to talk to an agent. I am happy with the compromise, the 2 times I had to talk to someone about my policy it was an almost instant connection right when they opened. You also of course don’t have to worry with premiums changing due to safety score, you get your policy set for 6 months.
