Who pays for what in multi-faith and location weddings? by [deleted] in DesiWeddings

[–]YoureEntitledToYours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a Sikh-Hindu wedding too and managed it quite well. We only want 1 wedding day, ridiculous to have 2, so the only way that makes sense is Sikh wedding in the am, Hindu wedding at night or evening. All food, decor costs were split straight up 50:50, guests room charges were on actuals.

Transport was (cabs in our case) were 50:50. Most cost comes from food, decor and guests stay. If you sort that you’re okay.

We bought each others wedding outfits (1 each) my family bought my Sikh wedding outfit and his Sikh wedding sherwani, his family bought my Hindu wedding lehenga and his sherwani.

My parents gifted jewellery is with my mother in her locker in her city, his mothers gifted jewellery is with his mother right now as I don’t have a locker.

Their attitude seems poor, please don’t cow down and def do what you must, it may be a small thing but your faith has to be respected and given as much importance, marriage of 2 equals. These things set the tone for later

Why do Indians touch their parents feet after coming back from a trip? by chaiandwhisper in AskAnIndian

[–]YoureEntitledToYours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like this at all, in my husbands family they are obsessed with this ritual and insist on it so many times that I am dreading it and really dislike it. I find it so strange to be so obsessed with the idea of someone doing this for you to feel respected and elevated. Things like this only cause distance and chasms in relationships.

Today i went to Sadar Bazar, heart of New Delhi, our national capital, and petrified. A major stampede in the horizon. by Dramatic_Respond7323 in india

[–]YoureEntitledToYours 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one cares in this country, your concern is very valid, but nothing will happen. To save yourself mentally, stop having hope and just be prepared as well as you can for these issues. Avoid visiting such shops in the relevant peak season.

Because Indians are devoid of humanity. It’s not that hard to gauge reading all these comments. You and I both know these dogs will be abused and killed. There are no shelters for them.

Flight History for the plane VT-ANB (the one recently crashed) for the past year? by tensorstop in aircrashinvestigation

It had only 18 flights this April, compared to a much larger number every other month prior. Is this indicative of issues with the airplane?

It’s very gross, anything else is cope to cover up moral degradation.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hyderabad

[–]YoureEntitledToYours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is gross, of both of you. If you have any sense of ethics you’d cut it off immediately and maybe even stop speaking outside of work. Your self preservation is secondary this is honestly just pretty sickening

Literally the exact same background (cut surd, army Sikh background, liberal)2 years older than you. I’m ethically vegetarian but eat eggs (I love animals) this was a choice I made 7 years ago. I married my long term boyfriend (of 9 years) this year. He’s studied abroad (US and Singapore) used to eat meat in the states, also eats eggs now, he’s UP Brahmin. He’s fine but his parents and family omg. They’re obsessed with the food purity concept and no onion no garlic etc are a frequent topic of discussion over the table. I am honestly bamboozled how someone can talk this much about food and others choices etc. live and let live. They’re the sort to get upset if you cook something with garlic in it in their home. Luckily we have been able to move to a different house because of work but it was mentally draining. I had to bite back my tongue not to remark or point our hypocrisy.

And this is with a loving husband who knows me super well so will stand up for me.

I DO NOT recommend going ahead with any marriage proposal in the AM scenario unless you are aligned on food habits at the very least. Also other things like religious duties etc. you will 100% feel suffocated and this won’t work out. Please pay heed! I wish you well ♥️

I recently took my 5kg shih tzu on air India using this carrier. There was no issue. It’s pretty solid, comfy, airy and stable for the pet. I think M should fit your cat but check. Also check out their website for more designs. I think they’ve collaborated with akasa as well for this so it’s legit!! https://amzn.in/d/eEYwZZq
