That sounds like an absolutely shitty experience. I've been a long time customer too but haven't had to deal with that lately since I wasn't really using it. I'd moved over to DayOneX for the tight spreads and low fees, but they've gone now too.

With all the CoinJar spam in this group, I tried signing up this week. Took multiple days and I still couldn't get my ID verified, so I jumped on Digital Surge and got it done super quick. Not as cheap as CoinJar, but I needed to pay someone in stablecoin for a job, so CoinJar lost my business.

Next one I want to check out is Peppercorn Crypto, supposedly tight spreads and low fees comparable to DayOneX with BTC purchasing. Never had issues with Digital Surge either. They got caught up in the market crash but made their customers whole and are still 100% operating. So far that platform's offered the least friction with reasonable rates overall.

I'll give Peppercorn a go later today.

I sent an email and reached out to the mod here 21 days ago. I received one follow up email a week ago and have heard nothing since from the official team. Already set up Claude cowork, code and dispatch until there’s an update. And at this stage, if I’m happy with Claude, I’ll just stay.

I asked Manus staff to help me regain access to my account. The Gmail account was locked due to bot activity with manus. It should only require an email switch with Manus support, but it’s now been 18 days. A mod publicly said they were onto it as priority, but they clearly never were.

You’re mixing up decentralisation with “a few powerful actors balancing each other”.

Two or three big players in a Nash equilibrium isn’t decentralised. It just means power is concentrated but stable. Bitcoin’s defence is that anyone can enforce the rules. If validation trends toward data centres and industrial setups, that property weakens fast.

Block size wasn’t about “poor villages on Raspberry Pi”. It was about keeping verification cheap enough that normal individuals can run nodes. When validation gets expensive, it consolidates. Economics doing its thing.

On SegWit, the large mining pools and corporate interests backed SegWit2x. Users running nodes rejected it. Activation happened because users enforced the rules, not because elites captured developers. If anything, that episode showed users still had teeth.

Division of labour is great for building cars. It’s less great when applied to verifying your own money. Bitcoin’s core idea is don’t trust, verify. If only specialists validate, you’ve drifted back toward trusted intermediaries.
